Aldona writes about her grand -grandparents and about Poland who was divided between three superpowers: Germany, Russia and Austria. Her great-grandparents lived in the German part. Aldona wrote in her book about this political situation during this period, Polish traditions, local food, and of course about love. Your host ILONA EUROPA interview with LARISSA BALDOVIN - artist, graphic designer, photographer, writer, filmmaker, and her husband MICHAEL HOCHMAN - a very known and loved bard, poet, singer songwriter, (producer), and filmmaker. Ilona and Larissa both grew up in Gliwice. Most of them were born in the territory of the Second Polish Republic and survived the Second World War in the USSR, and reached Silesia as part of the waves of repatriation. Not everyone had long-term plans with Poland, Gliwice was for them only a place of stay when traveling to Israel, America or Australia.
