    Faith Bugel was the lead attorney for the Environmental Law & Policy Center’s case against Midwest Generation’s coal power plants in Chicag.  Activists have been calling for the  closing of the plants over the last 12 years because of health concerns of the residents in the neighborhoods immediately surrounding the plants (Pilsen, Little Village).  The Mayor’s office announced last week that the plants would close in 2013.

    Kim has been in the fight to close the Crawford and Fisk coal plants since her 3 month old son son [now 14] was diagnosed with asthma, doctors suggested that the asthma was a result of his environment.  Residents often report finding a layer of coal soot layering their cars on humid mornings. The Mayor’s office announced last week that the plants would close in 2013.
