Have you ever heard that supplementing with Folic Acid is a good thing? Women who are pregnant or might become pregnant take folic acid to prevent miscarriage and “neural tube defects,” birth defects such as spina bifida that occur when the fetus’s spine and back don’t close during development.
Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin that is also used for preventing and treating low blood levels of folic acid as well as conditions like liver disease, alcoholism and kidney dialysis. Folic acid has can be used for many things, but don’t rush out and start supplementing with it.
Here’s the deal: since 1998, Folic Acid has been added to cold cereals, flour, breads, pasta, bakery items, cookies, and crackers, as required by federal law. Then you have foods that are naturally high in folic acid which include leafy vegetables (such as spinach, broccoli, and lettuce), okra, asparagus, fruits (such as bananas, melons, and lemons) beans, yeast, mushrooms, orange juice, and tomato juice.
The recommended amount of Folic Acid each day is 400 mcg. But if you’re consuming products that are fortified with Folic Acid, you may be consuming too much, which could cause abdominal cramps, diarrhea, rash, sleep disorders, irritability, confusion, nausea, stomach upset, behavior changes, skin reactions, seizures, gas, excitability, and other side effects. There is some concern that taking too much folic acid can increase the risk of heart attack in people who have heart problems. Other research suggests that taking these high doses might also increase the risk of cancer such as lung or prostate cancer.
It’s unfortunate, but if you’re taking a multivitamin that has Folic Acid – STOP. This is one of many reasons to take our Diet Free Daily multivitamin. We specifically formulated our Diet Free Daily without Folic Acid, but packed with the key vitamins and ingredients that fills nutritional gaps and acts as a fat accelerator. DID YOU KNOW that love begins in the kitchen! Here is how nutrition relates and supports our relationships and how we can get active together. Getting on the same page as it pertains to what’s cooked and eaten in the home empowers a relationship between husband and wife. Cooking one meal versus two or three helps to reduce stress in the home and this reduces conflict around food and reinforces love in the kitchen and household.
There’s research and studies that families who dine together eat more vegetables and fruits than those who rarely or never dine together. There’s a study that suggests kids that eat with their families most days are less likely to be overweight. SO, make the time to unify and come together as a family weekly and enjoy a fat burning meal.Join our free community at www.MyDietFreeLife.com

If you could burn an extra 17,000 calories, which equates to losing about five pounds by simply drinking 3 eight-ounce bottles of water – would you do it? If you could reduce the feeling of being bloated by drinking more water, water you do it? If you could put an extra $100 into your bank account and be 10 pounds lighter by the end of the year without exercising, would you do it? Studies and nutrition science says you can get these results by simply drinking an adequate amount of water. The question is, “What’s an adequate amount of water?” It’s simple: drink enough water so that your urine is closer to clear opposed to dark yellow.

There’s new research claiming Tequila Plant Could Aid Diabetics. Researchers announced at a meeting of the American Chemical Society that a sweetener derived from agave could lower blood glucose levels in diabetics and help them and those who are obese lose weight. Here's the deal: agave is primarily made up of FRUCTOSE which does not convert to sugar in your blood so of course diabetics could benefit. Agave which is highest in fructose is metabolized primarily by the liver and when consumed in excess you are more likely to experience a rise in triglycerides and body fat.
