Stunt Granny – Pro wrestling, Movies, Television, Sports,Music and Beer opinion and analysis from a bunch of jerks
Because the 4 Nations Face Off was on during recording, Jeremy & Kevin talked about the history of Canada vs the US. After getting thru hockey, they talked about how both WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite were just okay. With the surprise appearance by Moose, Jeremy & Kevin talked about TNA helping out the NXT men’s division. As usual, it’s hard to get thru an NXT review without talking about the stacked women’s division. To finish NXT, Jeremy & Kevin discussed Ricky Saints signing his contract. When your hosts got to AEW, they covered Hangman Page slowly turning baby face against MJF. Since many of the segments moved stories along, Jeremy & Kevin did not have a lot to say about them. To close the show, they did talk about Thunder Rosa‘s “Save” of Kris Statlander. Find out if they made it to the end of the 4 Nations Face Off by clicking the link below.

With an extra busy weekend in wrestling, Chris & Kevin recorded a show about WWE Smackdown and Raw. Kicking off their Smackdown review, they discussed how Corey Graves got him kicked off the replacement spot. After getting the opening segment wrong, they discuss how quickly Jacob Fatu has become a crowd favorite. Even though the WWE has invested time in the tag team division, Chris & Kevin discuss how it still isn’t interesting. Because LA Knight is challenging Shinsuke Nakamura, they also discuss the mid-card being a treadmill. With Elimination Chamber in Toronto, error two comes when Kevin forgets about the mandatory Trish Stratus match. On the Raw part of the review, Chris & Kevin talk about how to keep Jey Uso vs Gunther hot with a long time until Wrestlemania. To close the show, your hosts talk about Seth Rollins securing his spot in the Elimination Chamber.

Stunt Granny Audio is back as Chris and Jeremy discuss a weekend full of good wrestling shows. They start with a very good episode of AEW Grand Slam Collision. Look, we skip over all of the outside noise and concentrate on the show. Did two matches temper the crowd or the main event? Was there doubt about the outcomes of most of the matches? Did the right person win the main event? How about the TBS title match? Arguments and agreements are reached for what has to be the best Collision in quite some time. The focus moves to NXT: Vengeance Day and the fast pace of the show. Was this a send-off show for some NXT Talent? Why isn’t the debut of this new renegade group going to work? They discuss the possibilities for “The Man Who Hasn’t Been Named.” as well as the future of NXT after Saturday’s show. Is everything building to Stand and Deliver or is this a slow movement of talent to the main roster? Who came out ahead and whose future still looks uncertain? All of this and a lot more so get to listening; please.

Because Chris Bey posted a video, Jeremy & Kevin talk about the Dashing One’s recovery from an awful injury. After that, they talk about Demolition being under a WWE Legend’s contract. That news gave Jeremy & Kevin a chance to walk down memory lane. When they get to wrestling on TV, they start with AEW Dynamite as usual. Since the show was focused again, Jeremy & Kevin talk about the problems that still need ironed out. With another excellent Harley Cameron segment, your hosts talk about whether she should get the TBS Championship. For a change, Jeremy & Kevin did not short change NXT. As a recurring theme, they note how this show was more focused ahead of NXT Vengeance Day. To close the show, they talk about the appearance of Ricky Starks in the NXT Arena.

After the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl, Kevin gets together with Shahid to talk football. When they close out football talk for the season, they start talking about the talent cuts in AEW & the WWE. In discussing the cuts, Kevin & Shahid talk about how much you need to stand out in wrestling today. As they go on to explain, being a great wrestler is not enough. Because AEW let go of Malakai Black, Miro and Ricky Starks, Kevin & Shahid speculate on if they will all show up on WWE in the near future. When they do talk about the WWE, Kevin & Shahid focus on the early push to Wrestlemania. To close the show, they give credit to Harley Cameron for making AEW Collision a must watch. Much to their surprise, Ricky Starks showed up on NXT during the recording of this show.

With the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Jeremy & Kevin talked about how great the city is for major events like Wrestlemania. As they continued to talk, your hosts rated all of the cities they went to for ‘Mania. Once they got to wrestling, Jeremy asked Kevin about Chris Jericho saying ratings “Don’t matter as much as they used to.” After getting through that discussion, your hosts talked about AEW Dynamite. Since the same problems popped up again, Jeremy & Kevin talked about how the 50/50 booking is not helping anyone. With the show being 50/50, your hosts talked about enjoyed the end between Ricochet and Swerve Strickland. Since Jeremy & Kevin did not have a write up for NXT, they went off their memories to review it. After this show, your hosts are ready to go back to New Orleans.

With the Royal Rumble behind them, Chris & Kevin talk about the happenings on WWE Raw. Because Jey Uso started the show, your hosts talk about his popularity again. Even though Gunther confronted Jey, no commitment was made for it to bet the Wrestlemania match. When Charlotte Flair came out, she got booed. Though wrestlers are normally cheered after returning from long absences, Charlotte is not on that list. For Chris & Kevin, a running theme for the show was talking about how far out Wrestlemania is. Because neither of Jey Uso nor Charlotte Flair picked their opponent, it was an example of their theme. To close the show, Chris & Kevin talked about CM Punk punching his ticket to Elimination Chamber. After the match, Kevin Owens attacked Sami Zayn which could conclude with another ‘Mania match for them.

Because Chris & Kevin went to the WWE Royal Rumble live, Jeremy talked to them about their experience. By coincidence, your Stunt Granny hosts stayed in the hotel that the WWE Staff was at in Indianapolis. Though they started with the biggest surprise, Jey Uso winning the Men’s Royal Rumble, they went back to the beginning for a full review. Because of the shocking Men’s winner, your hosts talked about how predictable Charlotte Flair as the Women’s winner was. For reasons, the DIY vs Motor City Machine Guns got the short end of the review. In the ladder match, Chris, Jeremy & Kevin talked about how Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens used the ladder as a weapon. To close the show, they talked about their other thoughts on the Men’s Royal Rumble. The end of the show features restaurants and breweries to hit if one finds themselves in Indianapolis.

With the WWE Royal Rumble on his mind, Jeremy wanted to give his thoughts on the Premium Live Event. To take a different angle, Jeremy & Kevin chat about who the surprises might be in the Rumble. After looking at the rosters, your hosts found out that the Women’s division can use the main roster to fill all thirty spots. With the TNA crossover possibilities, Jeremy & Kevin talk about Masha Slamovich and Joe Hendry making appearances. Despite her protestations, your hosts do think Jordynne Grace will make an appearance. After talking the Rumble, Jeremy & Kevin do quick reviews of their normal shows AEW Dynamite and NXT. Because Jon Moxley had another rambling promo, your hosts talk about how badly the Death Riders angle is going. To close the show, your hosts talked about HHH being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

With the WWE Royal Rumble on Saturday, Chris & Kevin got into previewing both the Men’s and Women’s Rumble. Because there are more announced stars for the Men’s Rumble, your hosts start there. Even though Chris & Kevin think CM Punk is the favorite, they list the seven men they think have a chance of winning. Though your hosts started out unsure, they believe that Charlotte Flair or Bianca Belair are the most likely winners for the Women’s Rumble. Because Punk and Cody Rhodes interacted, the Rhodes match with Kevin Owens at the WWE Royal Rumble is even more predictable. In non Rumble news, they talk about JD McDonagh gutting it through a match with broken ribs and a punctured lung. To close the show, they talk about Toni Storm revealing her acting on AEW Collision.

With technology errors behind the, Jeremy & Kevin get right into wrestling this week. After a week off, your hosts do another deep dive into the problems of AEW Dynamite. Because Jeremy & Kevin both enjoyed the opening segment with Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay, it wasn’t on the list of problems. With Jeff Jarrett getting multiple segments, your hosts had him on the problems list. Since Julia Hart lost a match, Jeremy & Kevin wonder why the House of Black had a promo after it. When the crowd doesn’t react well to your main event, it’s time to rethink Jon Moxley as your champion. To close the AEW Dynamite portion of the show, they talk about the Hurt Syndicate capturing Tag Team gold. Because their bitching always takes long, Jeremy & Kevin do a speed round on NXT. One topic that did get some time, Lexis King embracing being a heel.
