The Justice Department is facing a deadline tonight to answer CNN, MS NOW and Politico's lawsuit against the president, ahead of a hearing tomorrow regarding his media ban. President Trump said that while he believes his ban is warranted, the federal judge overseeing the lawsuit “probably will” rule in the media’s favor. Plus, with all this playing out, the president was on the world stage with a message for Iran, telling the UN General Assembly that a deal with Iran is possible after the midterm elections, but his other choice is to “annihilate the Islamic Republic.”

Today, for the first time in modern memory, the one camera that's at the White House or that travels with a president almost always, was not there. The major television networks are standing with CNN by declining to replace its White House pool crew after the Trump administration barred CNN from fulfilling its assigned duties today. “The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government. No administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting,” ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC said in a rare joint statement. The President of the United States announced today, with no warning, that he has banned CNN from the White House along with MS NOW and Politico. Keeping Them Honest with what appears to be another instance of the Trump administration promoting its own sanitized version of American history instead of the real thing. It centers on new reporting in The Washington Post, that the administration has removed language, on signage and a web page, criticizing a memorial to the Confederacy formerly located in Arlington National Cemetery. A memorial they intend to restore and put back.  Plus, nearly 25 years after the day, new documents confirming what many suspected, the air near Ground Zero was less safe to breathe than officials let on; vital information the public simply was not told.
