What if your faith journey isn’t what you expected? When life doesn’t go as planned, do you trust God or let frustration take over? Discover how faith can shift everything.

    —

Life rarely unfolds the way we imagine. Many believe that if we follow God, everything should be smooth. But Scripture shows that obedience doesn’t always mean ease. The question is, how do we react when things don’t go as planned? When challenges arise, will you lean into faith or let disappointment cloud your vision?

When your journey takes unexpected turns, remember—it’s not about you completing it. It’s about trusting that God will. Listen as Pastor Barbie shares the importance of faith in the face of uncertainty.

The Exodus Into the Promised Land

Your past will throw everything it has at you, but God’s future for you is greater. Stop looking back and step forward into the life He has prepared for you.

    —

Like the Israelites, we sometimes feel trapped by our past, fearing that we’ll never fully escape its grip. But here’s the truth—when God delivers you, His power leads you forward. It might try to chase you down, but it cannot overcome the One who goes before you.

God didn’t just rescue Israel; He positioned Himself between them and their enemy, and He does the same for you. Instead of letting fear dictate your future, it’s time to trust the God who redeems. Are you ready to stop looking back and start walking in His promises?

    Scriptures Referenced

    Exodus 14:14; Deuteronomy 31:6; Psalm 23:4, 27, 46, 118; Isaiah 43:19; John 14:27; Romans 6:6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Hebrews 11:6, 13:8

    Key Insights

    • The world offers instability and will leave you empty. God is always stable and promises you life.
    • Your past will throw its best at you, but what God has is always better for you.
    • The world and your past will provoke you to act. God invites you to be still.
    • You are not alone. God has not abandoned you.
    • God requires us to step out in faith.
    • God wants to destroy your past and illuminate the future.
    • You can trust the Lord.

    Jesus: The One Thing

Is Jesus truly your One Thing, or just one of many? A life built on Him stands firm through every storm. Listen and allow Him to be your firm foundation.

    —

Many claim Jesus is important, but is He truly the foundation of your life? If Jesus is just one of many priorities, your faith will waver when trials come. But when He is your One Thing—the unshakable center of your life—everything else falls into place and this leads to security, peace, and purpose.

A life built on Jesus isn’t just about Sunday worship; it affects every decision, relationship, and action. When He is the One Thing, His presence shapes how we live, love, and lead. Are you building your life on a foundation that lasts, or on things that will fade? Make Him your One Thing today and experience the strength that only He can provide.

The One Thing You Need To Let Go

Feeling disconnected in faith and life? Sometimes the one thing you need to let go of is the sin holding you back. Find genuine connection with God today.

    --

In our fast-paced world, it's easy to feel spiritually disconnected, merely going through life's motions. We often project a facade that betrays our true selves while sin distances us from genuine relationships with God and others. James Jansen's sermon explores how shedding sin—no matter how minor it might seem—can transform our relationship with God, offering a more authentic existence.

By honestly confronting the sin that resides within and actively choosing righteousness, we allow God's love to permeate every facet of our lives. This not only enriches our faith but also enhances our interactions with others. Tune into the sermon to uncover the profound impact of letting go of what's holding you back.

That One Thing Holding You Back

Are fears and doubts holding you back from God's promises? Sometimes the "what" isn't the problem—it's the "who." Dive into overcoming unbelief today!

    --

We often ask ourselves what is holding us back in our spiritual journey. In this message, Pastor Justin suggests it may not be about a "what," but rather a "who"—specifically, ourselves succumbing to unbelief. He the experiences of biblical figures like Joseph and Moses to illustrate how setbacks can prepare us for a greater purpose.

Our doubts and fears may manifest as unbelief, hindering our growth. You’re invited to reassess not just what you believe, but who you believe holds the truth. That One Thing He Is Calling You To

Is your calling hiding in your pursuit of God? Discover how seeking Him first can reveal your divine purpose and transform your life.

    --

If you get him, you really don't need anything else because he encompasses all of it

Many of us spend our lives chasing a calling, a specific purpose we feel we must uncover to reach fulfillment. But what if the secret to unlocking this purpose isn't in the chase itself, but in our pursuit of God? What if by seeking God wholeheartedly, we inadvertently unearth the calling He has woven into our very being? It’s not about finding what you’re meant to do, it’s about discovering Him!

When we prioritize our relationship with God, the steps we need to take become clearer, the path more certain. The call is not for us to chase titles or roles, but to deepen our love and connection with our Creator. In this discovery lies a peace and purpose that transcends earthly understanding. Listen to find the courage and clarity to embrace the path God has designed for you.

    The Plagues & The Passover

"Why did God send the plagues?" They weren’t just punishments—they were declarations of His power over all creation. Each plague struck at Egypt’s gods, proving that Yahweh alone is Lord.

    —

The ten plagues were not random disasters; they were strategic acts of divine authority. Each one progressively dismantled the Egyptian belief system, proving their gods powerless before the God of Israel. Water turned to blood mocked the Nile god, darkness silenced the sun god, and the death of the firstborn shattered Pharaoh’s own claim to divinity.

God wasn’t just setting His people free—He was making a statement to the nations. The same power that overthrew Egypt’s gods still reigns today. Will we recognize Him as Lord, or harden our hearts as Pharaoh did? Discover how God reveals His authority in every generation in today’s message.

    Scriptures Referenced

    Exodus 12:3, 12:11-13; Deuteronomy 16, 32:8-9; John 12:1, 12:12; 2 Timothy 3:8

    Key Insights

    • We must read the Bible for what it says and not what you want it to say.
    • Moses grew up under the influence of Egypt and its gods.
    • There is significance to the plagues to display God’s power as Lord of all creation and to set His people free.
    • A hardened heart will bring God’s judgement. Our actions have consequences.
    • God delivered one nation in Egypt and delivered them all at Calvary.

    Moses and the Burning Bush

God invites you to come, but on His terms. The Bible is clear—when God calls, He expects obedience. Are you showing up the way He asks or the way you prefer?

    —

The burning bush wasn’t just a moment for Moses—it is an invitation to step into God’s presence and be transformed. Just like Moses, many of us have "shoes" on that can keep us from encountering God. These things—from significance and control to complacency and confusion—must be set aside if we want to fully encounter God.

How we respond to God’s invitation reveals how much we truly revere Him. Do we respond from a place of humble obedience or convenience?

    What's holding you back?

    Scriptures Referenced

    Exodus 3:1-6; Matthew 6:16-18; Philippians 2:9-11; 1 Peter 1:13-16; Hebrews 4:16, 13:8

    Key Insights

    • When God tells you something, you’re expected to obey.
    • How many times do we show up and want to approach God on our own terms?
    • You might come the way you are, but you won’t leave that way.
    • We serve a holy God.
    • When it comes to fasting, it’s not about what you give up, it’s about who you give it up for.
    • The primary reason we fast is to be in the presence of God.
    • How we treat others is a direct reflection of how holy we believe God is.
    • You won’t obey a voice you don’t recognize.
    • Significant time in His presence will cause you to realize how small you are and how holy He is.
    • The primary reason we fast is to be in the presence of God.

    Joseph the Dreamer

God always completes what He sets out to do. A word from Him fuels your faith and prepares you for what’s to come. Will you trust Him in the waiting?

    Jacob - Birthrights and Blessings

Why did Esau get angry when Jacob stole his blessing but seem unconcerned when he traded his birthright? Listen as Pastor Barbie shares about the power of blessing.

    —

Esau’s reaction reveals a deep truth—he didn’t understand the value of what he had until it was gone. He traded his birthright for a bowl of stew in a moment of impulse, driven by hunger instead of wisdom. He viewed his birthright, which defined his identity and role in God's plan, as worthless in that moment. When Jacob received Isaac's blessing, Esau cried heavily, realizing he had lost something irreplaceable. Blessing, once spoken, was sealed. It carried the weight of divine favor, authority, and future prosperity.

How often do we treat our own God-given gifts with casual disregard, only to mourn their loss later? God has placed blessings within reach, but they must be received and embraced. Esau’s story warns us not to underestimate the power of words spoken over us and through us.

Listen in and discover how to receive and walk in God’s blessing today.

    Scriptures Referenced

    Genesis 25:21-34, 27:28-29; John 20:21-22; Ephesians 1:3; Hebrews 12:16

    Key Insights

    • Birthrights and blessings are two completely different things.
    • Birthrights are positional and relational. They are about family and the future.
    • Blessings are precious. They are irrevocable and should be spoken.
    • God designed us with a desire to have blessings and truth spoken over us.
    • The greatest breath-blessing we could ever receive is the Holy Spirit.

If you’re looking for a church in Smyrna, TN that is focused on Loving Big, Living Truth, and Healthy Family, we’d love to connect with you. We offer a lively children's ministry, strong middle school and youth programs, and exceptional ministries for men and women of all ages. We partner with missionaries in the US and abroad, Isaiah 117 House, local retirement communities, and others for our outreach efforts.

Additionally, we are home to Springhouse Theatre, an award-winning theatre in the Nashville area. We support the Nashville theatre community and serve thousands of patrons annually. We aim to broaden our impact on culture through the arts and by building new relationships.
