    723: Friday the 13th Parts 1 & 2

    Halloween is in the air, and we’re breaking from the rewatch for the new Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake, premiering this Thursday, October 15, on Peacock. We’ve seen the first couple of episodes, and I think you’re gonna like it! It’s surprisingly fun, with some dark comedy, and the great Linda Cardellini putting in an incredible performance as Pamela Voorhees. Even if you don’t usually like slasher flicks, I recommend giving this one a shot. Like with The Walking Dead, this series is about the characters.

    Cohosting with me will be two of the biggest horror fans I know, Nathan and Jayme, and in this ep we get you ready by going back to the beginning, with some talk about Friday the 13th Parts 1 & 2. I had not seen these since the early ‘80s, when I was 11 years old, and I was a little freaked out to revisit them. But it ended up being a pleasure to be transported to another time. These are classic slasher flicks though, so be warned!

    720: Resident Evil (2026)

    The Resident Evil film series has a spotty reputation at best. Forget about all that, because this latest iteration has Ron Anderson (aka Austin Abrams) in it! And also, it’s directed by visionary new horror director Zach Cregger (Barbarian, Weapons), who’s never even seen any of the other RE movies, but loves the games, and it really shows. Whether you’re a Resident Evil fan or just like a thrilling, fun, and surprisingly funny action horror movie, special guest Rima and I highly recommend checking this one out, and then come back and listen to us geek out about it.

    718: TWD: Dead City Season 3 Listener Feedback

    Ben and Alex are back one last time to close the book on The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3, turning the microphones over to the Zedheads for their thoughts on the finale, “Tenebrae,” and the season as a whole.


    This week, they dig into a huge batch of listener feedback while revisiting Maggie and Negan’s remarkable evolution, Hershel’s transformation into one of the season’s biggest surprises, the impact of characters like Luis, Renata and Dillard, and why the seemingly disconnected pieces of the season ultimately came together to tell a much bigger story. Along the way, they unpack some fantastic callbacks and symbolism listeners caught, debate what a potential Season 4 could look like, and speculate about whether Dead City could eventually become a meeting point for characters from across the larger Walking Dead universe.

    Most importantly, Ben and Alex take some time to thank everyone who watched, listened, wrote in, called, theorized, disagreed, overthought things and went off on countless tangents with them throughout the season. The Dead City coverage may be finished for now, but the Zedheads made this season one hell of a ride.

    And yes... there are still plenty of completely unnecessary tangents along the way.

    • Alien: Earth (FX): From the brilliant Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion), this one really scratches that sci-fi itch. A greedy corporate tech overlord transfers the consciousness of a group of terminally ill children into highly performant synth bodies. And the Xenomorph is in it, too. Also, Tim Olyphant!     717: TWD: Dead City S3E8 "Tenebrae"

    Ben and Alex are back to break down The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 finale, Episode 8, “Tenebrae,” as Maggie, Negan and Hershel fight to take back Manhattan and one of the strongest seasons of Dead City yet comes to a close.


    This week, they dive into the final showdown with Dillard, Hershel stepping into his own as a leader, and the huge emotional payoff to Maggie and Negan’s evolving relationship. They also discuss how seemingly every piece of Season 3 ultimately mattered, Maggie finally embracing the kind of leader she can become, and why the finale feels less like the end of a story and more like a soft reboot launching Dead City into something much bigger.
