God told the exiled people of Israel,  ”When I see the blood, I will pass over you.”  It was the the blood of the lamb on the door post.  What does this archaic image hold for us today?

My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together -Genesis 22:7-8
