What we devote ourselves to shapes who we become. In Acts 2, the early church was more than a group of people who believed the same things—they were a community transformed by the Holy Spirit and deeply committed to following the way of Jesus together. Their devotion produced a church marked by unity, generosity, worship, prayer, and genuine care for one another. Rather than simply asking what the early church did, we're invited to consider what it would look like to live with that same kind of devotion today. Acts 2:42 gives us four practices at the heart of this life: devotion to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. These aren't simply church programs or activities to add to an already busy schedule—they're practices that form us into the people God desires us to become. A life of devotion takes time, commitment, and sacrifice, calling us to move from consuming to contributing and from simply trying harder to intentionally training in the way of Jesus.

What would it look like to stop holding back and fully trust God with the life He has given you? In 2 Kings 13, King Jehoash was given an opportunity for complete victory, but he stopped short, leaving arrows in his quiver and settling for less than what God desired for him. His story challenges us to consider the places where we may be living with partial obedience, allowing fear, comfort, or complacency to keep us from fully surrendering to God. We weren't created to settle for a halfhearted faith, but to persevere and faithfully use everything God has entrusted to us. God has placed purpose, potential, and calling within each of us, but potential only makes a difference when we're willing to act on it. That means choosing courage over comfort, making what matters most truly important, and allowing faith to fuel the risks God asks us to take. Rather than leaving this life with arrows still in the quiver, we're invited to trust God completely, step boldly into His calling, and give everything we have to following Jesus.

Special guest speaker Dr. Craig Woodall reminds us that life's storms are inevitable, but they don't have to define us. Even in circumstances God did not orchestrate, He is able to redeem what has been broken and use our hardest seasons to transform us. In the middle of fear, uncertainty, and disappointment, Jesus doesn't remain distant- He meets us right where we are and reminds us that the storm is not the end of our story. How we respond in the storm matters. By taking our thoughts captive and choosing to anchor them in the truth of who God is, we can resist allowing our circumstances to determine our hope. And when it feels like nothing is changing, one small word can reshape our perspective: yet. What God hasn't done yet doesn't mean He isn't working, and the storm we're facing today may become the place where we experience His presence and redemption in a whole new way.

This message, based on Psalm 139, is about realizing that God knows you completely, is always with you, intentionally created you, and wants to search your heart—not to shame you, but to transform you. The main point is that you don’t have to hide, pretend, or perform for God because He already knows every part of you and still loves you completely. The message moves through four ideas: God knows me, God is with me, God made me, and God searches me. Ultimately, that complete knowledge and love should lead us to stop hiding from God, surrender what needs to change, and come to Him confidently through Jesus, who demonstrated God’s love by dying for us even while we were still sinners.

So much of life is spent building, protecting, working, and providing for the people we love. Psalm 127 reminds us that these good things can quickly become exhausting when we try to carry them without God. Our homes, security, work, rest, and families all matter deeply, but when we depend solely on our own strength, anxiety often becomes a sign that we've taken on burdens we were never meant to carry. True flourishing begins when we invite God into every area of our lives and trust Him with what matters most. Trust changes the way we approach everything- from the work we do and the homes we create to the way we rest and raise our children. Our work can become an act of worship, rest becomes an expression of dependence on God, and parenting becomes an opportunity to steward the lives He has entrusted to us with grace. Instead of anxiously striving to control every outcome, Psalm 127 invites us to surrender our worries to the One who cares for us and discover the freedom that comes from building our lives with God at the center.

It's easy to remember God's faithfulness when life is going well, but much harder when we're walking through seasons of uncertainty, disappointment, or struggle. Psalm 136 calls God's people to remember- not because God forgets, but because we do. Recounting God's work throughout creation, the Exodus, the wilderness, and the Promised Land, this psalm reminds us that His steadfast love has been present through every chapter of His people's story. When we remember what God has done in the past, we gain confidence to trust Him with both the present and the future. The story of Israel ultimately points to our own journey of faith. God is our Creator who gives us purpose, our Rescuer who brings freedom through Christ, our Shepherd who faithfully forms us through life's wilderness seasons, and our Giver who invites us to live in the fullness of His promises. No matter where you find yourself today, God's faithful love has not changed. As we remember His goodness, our hearts are strengthened to follow Him with confidence, worship Him with gratitude, and share His love with the world.

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, yet its singular focus is remarkably simple: the life-changing power of God's Word. In a world filled with competing voices and shifting opinions, we're invited to see Scripture not merely as history or literature, but as God's living revelation to humanity. The way we view the Bible shapes the way we receive it, and ultimately, the way we live. Jesus Himself treated God's Word as the ultimate authority, making it the foundation for His life and ministry- and we're called to do the same. When God's Word becomes the authority in our lives, it transforms us from the inside out. It provides direction when we're unsure of the path ahead, becomes a refuge and source of hope in life's hardest moments, and fills our hearts with a joy that nothing else can satisfy. More than a collection of ancient writings, the Bible points us to Jesus- the living Word- and invites us into a deeper relationship with Him, where truth becomes more than information; it becomes the source of a flourishing life.

Real life change doesn't begin with trying harder, it begins with a changed heart. In Psalm 51, David's prayer of repentance reveals that God isn't looking for perfection, but for honest hearts that are willing to turn back to Him. Repentance is more than feeling sorry for our sin; it's an invitation to experience God's forgiveness, restoration, and transforming grace. As we confess our failures and take responsibility for them, God meets us with mercy and begins the work of making us new. True repentance leads to more than forgiveness- it produces lasting fruit. God renews our hearts, refreshes our souls, and shapes us into people who reflect His character in every area of life. When we approach Him with humility and surrender, we discover that the greatest sacrifice we can offer is a heart fully yielded to Him. Lasting life change isn't something we achieve on our own- it's the miracle God accomplishes in us as we draw near to Him.

As Jesus prepared to face the cross, He sang the closing verses of Psalm 118- a song of confidence, gratitude, and hope that nourished His soul in the darkest moment of His earthly life. These timeless words remind us that, like Jesus, we have a choice in how we respond to life's challenges. Rather than being defined by fear or uncertainty, we can anchor ourselves in God's faithful presence, build our lives on Christ the Cornerstone, and rest in the assurance that we are deeply loved by Him. Psalm 118 also calls us to cultivate a life marked by gratitude and resurrection hope. Thankfulness reshapes our perspective, even in difficult seasons, while the victory of Jesus over death gives us confidence that suffering and loss will never have the final word. Because Christ has conquered the grave, we can face both today's struggles and tomorrow's uncertainties with joy, courage, and the unshakable hope that God always has the last word.
