    HE WAS BORN BLIND

JESUS HEALED HIM AND HE WALKED AROUND HEALED

    EVERYONE HAD QUESTIONS

John 9:8 His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?”

John 9:10 “How then were your eyes opened?” they asked. (NIV)

WHEN THE COMMUNITY COULDN’T FIGURE IT OUT, THEY WENT TO THE PHARISEES TO TRY AND FIGURE IT OUT

John 9:15 Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. “He put mud on my eyes,” the man replied, “and I washed, and now I see.” (NIV)

John 9:16 Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.” But others asked, “How can a sinner perform such signs?” So they were divided. (NIV)

THE PHARISEES COULDN’T FIGURE IT OUT SO THEY WENT TO THE MAN’S PARENTS

John 9:20 “We know he is our son,” the parents answered, “and we know he was born blind. (NIV)

John 9: 21 But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.”

25 He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” (NIV)

     “SHOW AND TELL”

      1.  SHOW THEM WITH YOUR LIFE

Matthew 5:16 Jesus said, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (NIV)

1 Peter 2:12 Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. (NLT)

      2.  TELL THEM WITH YOUR STORY

Psalm 66:2 Tell the world how glorious he is. (NLT)

John 9:25 He replied, “…. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” (NIV)

How to NOT Miss a God Moment

John 1:35-36 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” (NIV)

John 1:40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus (NIV)

John 1:41-42 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus (NIV)

John 1:43-46 The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.” 44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46 Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip (NIV)

    Found People Find People

    1. Live with an urgency.

John 9:4 We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work (NLT)

    2. Go to who you know.

    3. Watch for divine appointments.

Matthew 9:35-38 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (NIV)

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word of God urgently at all times, whenever you get the chance, in season and out, when it is convenient and when it is not (TLB)

1 Peter 3:15 Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy (MSG)

How to Go from Not Enough to More than Enough

2 Kings 4:1–7 Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord, but the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.” 2 And Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me; what have you in the house?” And she said, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.” 3 Then he said, “Go outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few. 4 Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside.” 5 So she went from him and shut the door behind herself and her sons. And as she poured they brought the vessels to her. 6 When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another.” Then the oil stopped flowing. 7 She came and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on the rest.” (ESV)

Proverbs 13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow (NIV)

    4. Margin allows you and I to live on mission

Proverbs 22:7 The borrower is slave to the lender (NIV)

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work (NIV)

2 Corinthians 9:10-11 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God (NIV)

Breaking The Mindset That’s Blocking Your Breakthrough

Matthew 6:31–34 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (NIV)

2 Kings 4:1–2 The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” 2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” (NIV)

    1. The Overwhelmed Mindset

    2. The Self-worth Mindset

Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” (NIV)

Psalm 34:19 The RIGHTEOUS person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; (NIV)

(NIV)

Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be PROSPEROUS and successful. (NIV)

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. (NLT)

Baby Christian or Mature Christian? - Hebert Cooper - Audio
    BABY CHRISTIAN OR MATURE CHRISTIAN?

Hebrews 5:12–14 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word ALL OVER AGAIN. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who LIVES ON MILK, BEING STILL AN INFANT, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. (NIV)

    1. MISUNDERSTANDING MATURITY

1 Peter 2:2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may GROW UP in your salvation, (NIV)

    SIGNS OF BEING SPIRITUALLY STUCK

1A. INFANTS DEPEND ON OTHERS TO FEED THEM

1B. INFANTS DON’T LISTEN AND APPLY WELL

    1C. INFANTS ARE SELF-CENTERED

    2. MISPLACED PRIORITIES

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)

    3. MISGUIDED MOTIVATION

    4. MISMANAGE SIN

1 Timothy 6:11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. (NIV)

    5. MISREAD SITUATIONS

Hebrews 5:14 1But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of DISCERNMENT trained by constant practice to DISTINGUISH good from evil. (ESV)

5A. THEY STRUGGLE DISCERNING SATAN’S SCHEMES

2 Corinthians 2:11 in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. (NIV)

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. (NIV)

1 Timothy 4:1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (NIV)

5B. THEY STRUGGLE DISCERNING THE VOICE OF GOD

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. (NIV)

John 10:14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep KNOW ME (NIV)

    6. MISS MATURING

    6A. MATURITY REQUIRES PRACTICE

Hebrews 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment TRAINED BY CONSTANT PRACTICE to distinguish good from evil. (ESV)

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (NIV)

    6B. MATURITY REQUIRES CORRECTION

    1. THE READING OF THE WORD OF GOD CORRECTS THE MATURE

2 Timothy 3:16–17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, REBUKING, CORRECTING, TRAINING in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God  may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NIV)

    2. THE PREACHING OF THE WORD OF GOD CORRECTS THE MATURE

Proverbs 12:1 Whoever LOVES discipline LOVES knowledge, but whoever hates correction is STUPID. (NIV)

My Relationship With Jesus is None of Your Business | Herbert Cooper - Audio
MY RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS

Matthew 7:16 By their FRUIT you will RECOGNIZE THEM. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? (NIV)

Matthew 7:20 Thus, by their FRUIT you will RECOGINE THEM. (NIV)

Matthew 12:33 “Make a tree good and its FRUIT will be good, or make a tree bad and its  fruit will be bad, for a tree is RECOGNIZED by its FRUIT. (NIV)

1 Timothy 4:15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that EVERYONE MAY SEE YOUR PROGRESS. (NIV)

    1. GROW IN LIVING BY THE TRUTH

1 Timothy 4:1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (NIV)

1A. GROW IN TRUTH BY RECOGNIZING FALSE TEACHERS

1 Timothy 4:2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. (NIV)

2 Timothy 4:3–4 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (NIV)

2 Corinthians 11:13–15 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. (NIV)

Jude 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (NIV)

1 Timothy 6:3–5 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. (NIV)

1B. TEST THEIR DOCTRINE AGAINST SCRIPTURE

Acts 17:11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and EXAMINED the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. (NIV)

1C. GROW IN TRUTH BY LIVING BY GOD’s WORD

1 Timothy 4:3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. (NIV)

Mark 7:13 Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that. (NIV)

1 Timothy 4:16 Watch your life and DOCTRINE closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. (NIV)

    A. WORK-BASED SALVATION

    B. HYPER-GRACE

    C. UNIVERSALISM

    D. DENIAL OF CHRIST’S DIVINITY OR HUMANITY

    E. SPEAKING IN TONGUES AS A REQUIREMENT FOR SALVATION

    F. EXTRA-BIBLICAL REVELATION

    G. FOLLOW YOUR HEART

    H. CHRISTIANS DON’T SUFFER

    I. THERE’S NO SPIRITUAL ENEMY

    2. GROW IN GODLINESS

    2A. GROWING IN THANKSGIVING

1 Timothy 4:4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, (NIV)

2B. GROWING IN THE WORD OF GOD AND PRAYER

1 Timothy 4:5-6 because it is consecrated by the WORD OF GOD AND PRAYER. 6 If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, NOURISHED on the truths of the faith and of THE GOOD TEACHING THAT YOU HAVE FOLLOWED. (NIV)

2C. GROWING IN TRAINING YOURSELF TO BE GODLY

1 Timothy 4:7-8 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (NIV)

    3. GROW IN MAKING DISCIPLES

1 Timothy 4:6 If you POINT THESE THINGS OUT to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. (NIV)

1 Timothy 4:11Command and teach these things. (NIV)

    4. GROW IN BEING A LEADER BY SETTING AN EXAMPLE

1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but SET AN EXAMPLE for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (NIV)

    5. GROW IN YOUR DEVOTION TO CHURCH

1 Timothy 4:13 Until I come, DEVOTE yourself to the PUBLIC reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. (NIV).

    6. GROW IN YOUR GIFTS

1 Timothy 4:14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. (NIV)

    7. GROW IN YOUR FAITHFULNESS

1 Timothy 4:15 Be DILIGENT in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. (NIV)

If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate, 27 why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’ 28 “Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. 29 To those WHO USE WELL WHAT THEY ARE GIVEN, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance.
