Geekscape is one of the longest running podcasts on the internet! Since 2006, a horde of geek guests and experts have journeyed into the Geekscape to discuss the latest movies, videogames, comics, TV and every other aspect of geek existence!
Geekscapists! We can happily report that WonderCon 2026 was awesome! That's right! SoCal's early entry to the beginning of Con Season is always a fun backyard party to the Los Angeles film and comic industry, and this year is no different! There were film and comic book industry professionals, tons of cosplayers, cool events, and tons of friends spanning Geekscape's 20 year history! Couldn't make it? That's okay! We're here to bring you along as we talk to Geekscape friends and creators new and old alike, such as writer Ernie Altbacker, artist Liana Kangas, Mega64's Derrick Acosta, creator Gavin Hignight, former wrestler and always artist Scott Lost, and our new friends at Punk Rock Time Machine (you'll really love those dudes)! It's almost like you were there yourself, so sit back, listen, and enjoy!

This week on Geekscape, we bring you back to Pasadena Comic Con where The (Midnight) Night Boyz invade Pasadena Comic Con in order to discuss lesser-known Sci-Fi movies & tv shows!
On a special collab with 80s Kids Unite's Zak and Corey, and Max from Ready2Retro, we share this fan-packed panel at last month’s Pasadena Comic Con. The “Boyz” reflect on forgotten sci-fi movies and TV shows that hit (Enemy Mine & Alien Nation) and some that didn’t (Metalstorm). Enjoy!

Musician Steve Coulter of the rock band Ridel High returns to Geekscape (maybe you know him as music writer S.W. Lauden)! If you're unfamiliar with Ridel High, they are one of the L.A. rock bands that landed a major label deal in the wake of Weezer's successful debut... and you may be unfamiliar with them because not all of those bands "made it". But I loved their one album in college and have had Steve on the show before to talk about that era in rock music. Now he returns with fellow bandmate Kevin Ridel to talk about their upcoming EP of unreleased Ridel High demos and B-Sides! It's a hilarious conversation that spans music industry ups and downs, video games, YouTube streaming, and so much more! And the always awesome Eric Ernst joins me as my music history literate cohost! Enjoy!

With little press and fanfare, Marvel's 'Wonder Man' landed on Disney+... resulting in almost unanimous praise from both fans and critics! Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as down-and-out actor Simon Williams, who develops a friendship with beleaguered actor Trevor Slattery, still struggling with a damaged career and reputation from playing the international terrorist 'The Mandarin'. Do both of their fortunes turn around when a new remake of the 70s superhero film 'Wonder Man' gets announced? And how do any of these events mirror the Wonder Man stories from the Marvel comics? Will the MCU Wonder Man ever join an Avengers team? Or develop a romance with Wanda Maximoff? Will we even see this Wonder Man again? We still have tons of questions! Join us as we work through them!

And bring you with us as we talk to comic creators like Jordan Morris, Jamal Anansi, Steve Prince, Chris Mancini, Tony Fleecs, and pro wrestler and actor John Morrison! Also... Geekscapists! We made it into 2026! Well... kind of. Sure, the real world is a giant freaking mess, but that's why we like to "escape to the Geekscape" as our theme song proclaims! And on this episode, we're escaping with friends, as I'm joined with Geekscape podcast hosts Zak Shaffer and Josh Jackson to catch up on some pop culture! We'll be discussing the final season of 'Stranger Things'... and the accompanying #ConformityGate! Jack Black and Paul Rudd's "not really a remake" of 'Anaconda'! 'Avatar: Fire and Ash'! 'Primate'! Recent video games we've been playing! Things in 2026 that we're looking forward to... and so much more!

My college roommate Kevin McCaffrey returns to the show! Broadcasting in from Singapore (!), Kevin brings with him a brand new project: his new punk band Best Laid Plan! We'll talk movies, video games, and comics, of course... but this episode is going to have a healthy heaping of music talk (especially punk) as we talk about the new Best Laid Plan EP that is currently up on streaming platforms now! And you know we'll be talking about the real life origins of the song 'Nobody Wears Shorts In Japan'!
