Hey Slaycaters, it’s Spring Break time which means we’re bringing you crazy, tragic cases of people being killed on Spring Break.  And as today’s case proves, you don’t even need to have Spring Break plans to wind up un-alived.  Ugh.  Without giving too much away, we’re going back to 1973 for the first murder on the campus of Iowa State.  This case has so many twists and turns that we couldn’t fit it all into one episode.  But we promise you’ll have plenty to absorb and digest with this one. Hey Slaycaters, today’s case is a mystery from 1980 that went on to haunt a serene, seaside, Georgia town for decades.  Driving back to New York from their annual winter holiday in Miami,  Charles and Catherine Romer stopped off in one of their favorite roadside hotels — the Holiday Inn, in Brunswick, Georgia.  But while they checked in — they never checked out.  The couple, in their mid-to-late 70’s disappeared along with their custom, 1979 Lincoln Continental.  We won’t give away what happened — but if was a happy ending, it wouldn’t be on our show.  But as is so often the case — when tragedy strikes, it also brings out the best in people. Through a combination of sheer tenacity and obsession this case was eventually brought to a resolution.  As always, thanks for listening and please stay safe out there!

Hey Slaycaters, we’re back with another crazy case that you just have to hear to believe.  It takes place in Suwannee, Florida — an interesting part of South Florida — right near the famous Suwannee River (from the famous Old Folks at Home song that also happens to be Florida’s State song despite the original version being completely racist)  But we digress…  This case involves the Rainey Family: Dad David Rainey, his wife Cindy and their two 20-something year old sons. Joining them on this Dixieland vacation was one of the son’s girlfriends, as well as a family friend and Cindy’s Boss from her job as a realtor.  Everything was going fine — until David went missing.  What happens next will have you asking all kinds of questions — many starting with WTF??? But isn’t that always the way on Slaycation?  Enjoy and stay safe out there!

OK Slaycaters, it’s time for the shocking conclusion of our tragic tale of murder in Shenandoah National Park.  If you haven’t heard Part 1, you’ll want to do so in order to be up on all the facts of the case featuring Julie and Lollie, two young lovers and hikers who were just starting their life together. Unfortunately, they won’t make it out of the park alive. The twists and turns the investigation takes will have you guessing and second-guessing whodunnit (it sure did with us!) Again, a word of warning as this case is exceptionally brutal and sad — (then again, which ones aren’t?).  But at least there is a resolution — one we assure you will NOT see coming!  As this case tragically illustrates there is no shortage of creeps, assaulters, and murderers wandering even the most serene and picturesque parts of the world — so stay safe out there!  Peace.

Hey Slaycaters, get ready for a real head-scratcher as we delve into the mysterious disappearance of 18-year old August Reiger who went missing in the Ecuadorian resort town of Banos while on vacation with his family. August, a free-spirited, artsy kid was drawn to the spirituality of the region and was excited that he and his family would get to experience it. But while out on a relatively simple hiking trail that looped up and around a small mountain peak... August ran ahead of his family and then... vanished. Authorities initially treated the case as a kidnapping, but there was never a ransom request. Words like 'trafficking' were thrown about while others described seeing August in the back of a pickup truck headed towards the Amazon region. But while the nearby Colombian border has had an issue with Americans being kidnapped -- this area was considered relatively safe. So, what happened to this young man right before he was about to attend college at Oklahoma State? Not only did this case gain international attention, then Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa pledged to make it a priority of his administration. Join the Throuple of Kim, Adam & Jerry as they piece together the clues and events of that fateful day on the mountain trail.
