Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water… you get killed on the boat! Today we’re coming at you with two recent cases that provide two more reasons why you won’t catch this true crime Throuple on a cruise. Like, ever. First, there’s the recent case of 18-year old, Anna Kepner which is still very much a tragic work in progress. And then we dive into another recent case, the strange death of 60- stunt motorcycle show operator James Messham. Together these two cases will have you rethinking any up-coming bon voyages… not that the resort is that much safer. Maybe your best bet is to just stay home. It’s worked for us…so far. Here we go again, Slaycation Fam — back on the Appalachian Trail for a solo hiking adventure...what could possibly go wrong?  Well, if we’re talking about it, then…everything. But here’s an interesting wrinkle — the victim was a 30-year old man.  Scott Lilly, from South Bend Indiana, needed a reset — to clear his mind he decided to challenge himself by hiking hundreds of miles along the Southern route of the Appalachian Trail.  Things were going well at first as he checked in with his family.  But when the calls stopped, people got worried and put out a missing person’s alert.  What investigators would eventually find still haunts the trail today and might even tie in with another murder!  As always, thanks for listening & please stay safe!

It took place in January, 2000 at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, CA while Adam was on set filming a movie he wrote for MTV. Believe us when we say, Adam is a skeptic. He makes shows about Science. The last thing he wants is to believe in ghosts! But since this actually happened and he saw what he saw (along with a witness) -- he has no choice but to leave the door to the paranormal open. Hey Slaycaters, this week we are headed to the Austrian Alps for a cold case that became a hot one once a body was found on the Stubby Glacier.  Duncan MacPherson, a former professional hockey player from Canada, seemingly vanished on the slopes while snowboarding during a fateful vacation trip before staring a new coaching job in Scotland.

Hey Slaycaters, welcome to another episode of Slaycation — this time taking place in the awe-inspiring Crater Lake National Park located in the Cascade Mountains of Southern Oregon. 

 It’s a magical place where people go to connect with nature, hike, camp and feel a sense of spirituality that sometimes veers into the unexplained and paranormal.  Well, something very unexplained and possibly even paranormal took place on October 14th, 2006 — when Kenneth Boehlke and his 8-year old son, Samuel visited the Park.

OMG Slaycaters…  We’ve got a doozy of a case today — definitely not for the faint-hearted. But also — one you’re gonna want to hear because this sh*t gets cray-cray. (Quoting Kim, here.) As always, the less you know the better — but let’s just say a fateful camping trip to Mt. Shasta goes horribly, murderously wrong for poor, sweet, trusting Lora Sinner who thought she was among friends… when in reality she was really among fiends.

Hey Slaycaters, meet Lela and Raymond Howard, a sweet elderly couple from Salado, Texas who, against the wishes of concerned family members, decide to drive themselves to a nearby festival, 15 miles away. They never made it — in part because Lela was driving in the complete opposite direction.

n fact, a cop pulled them over for driving with their headlights off in Arkansas, about 500 miles away. Meanwhile, back home panicked friends and family were desperately searching for the missing couple. Did they deliberately go on the run? Was Lela’s Alzheimer’s to blame? Were they trying to escape a life of doctors appointments, medications, aches & pains?

This 1997 story became the inspiration for the song ‘The Way’ by Fastball -- only with a much happier ending. Thanks for Slaycating with us and please stay safe out there!

Hey Slaycaters, get ready for another dose of WTF? — this time courtesy of the Indonesian authorities handling (or rather mishandling) of a mysterious death at a luxury villa in Bali.  

When 23-year old, Australian Byron Haddow was found floating face down in a plunge pool after a night out with friends — you’d think there would be a major investigation involving the police; including witness statements; cordoning off the crime scene and stripping everything down for evidence… Right?  

Nope, that’s not what happened… at all.  However, the Indonesian Coroner’s Office did hold onto Byron’s body for weeks before sending it back — minus the heart. Yeah, this case gets weird.
