This week, Andy and Rick are joined by Jonah Rosner, who became one of the youngest sport scientists in NFL history at just 25.

They explore how sports fuelling and supplementation are constantly evolving and tearing up the rule book.

So, are we overcomplicating fuelling? Jonah breaks down the most proven strategies for supporting performance and recovery, and they may be much simpler AND much cheaper.

183: Is Athletics A Dying Sport? (And Can We Save It)

Following Josh Kerr’s comments that the prize money for breaking the One Mile World Record was “ridiculous” and “appalling”, we take a closer look at the state of athletics and ask a bigger question: why does one of the world’s most popular participation sports struggle to attract the audience and attention it deserves?

With low attendances at major events, including this week’s European Championships in Birmingham, and athletes increasingly questioning whether their performances are properly valued, we explore the disconnect between the millions of people who run and the relatively small number who watch athletics.

Andy shares his own journey to the world stage, the sacrifices it took to get there, and what success really meant to him. Was it the financial reward, the achievement itself, or the pride of representing your country?

We also look at what World Athletics is doing to modernise the sport, attract new audiences and make athletics a more attractive prospect - and ask whether these initiatives can actually secure the future of the sport.

TRC BREAKING NEWS: Josh Kerr Smashes the Mile World Record

WOW! History was made at the London Diamond League as Josh Kerr ran a mind-blowing 3:42.66 to break the men's mile world record, a mark that had stood since 1999, when Hicham El Guerrouj set it.

Andy and Sarah unpack one of the greatest middle-distance performances we've ever seen, looking at the numbers behind the run and why it's such a landmark moment for the sport.

Andy shares his own personal experience, having ranked number one in the world for the mile when he ran 3:49.38 in Oslo in 2008. He explains just how hard it is to run this event at the highest level, talks through how the race unfolded, and breaks down the perfectly executed pacing strategy that helped make history.

Sarah, meanwhile, puts Josh's speed into context in her own way... by comparing it to the speed of a cat.
