Scott Brennan is one of our most beloved co-hosts and he joins us whilst sitting in the sh*t. As always, he still brings his tender, loving and funny self to the conversation. We go from Oscar Wilde to a married mum drowning under the mental load to the avowedly single Whoopi Goldberg. This episode has it all. Enjoy xxx

Michelle Sheppard is a leader in the realm of gender equity. Her own path as a transgender woman has given her a unique perspective, providing her with insightful insights into the complex issues of gender bridging. In recognition of her extraordinary contributions, Michelle was inducted into the Victorian Museum of Women and honoured with a coveted spot in the 2023 Victorian Honour Roll of Women as a Change Agent. In today's episode, Michelle and Nelly GET AMONGST IT: her two young marriages as a "Mid-West Gentleman" and then later, dating as a trans woman. We talk about some shitful experiences on the dating apps and, some good ones (spoiler alert: she found her sweetpea there). Nelly and Michelle take a call on how to talk to kids after divorce (TW: family violence is mentioned) and ultimately, how to keep the focus on the kiddos. Michelle has multiple "ten... but" dealbreakers and some spicy stuff from ex's. A terrific episode with a thoughtful and fascinating woman.

Danny Blay is a wonderful man who works in behaviour change with men who use violence against women and children. Nelly and Danny have worked together for many years in the violence prevention space and are now mates. Danny is a very dedicated father and his kids have recently moved out of home. Nelly and Danny talk about how the "empty nest" hit him so hard. Nelly and Danny also take a listener letter from a mum whose grown, adult son is potentially an abusive husband and, a call from a woman who has been "sitting in the sh*t" for 12 years after a toxic relationship. This is a sometimes heavy but moving episode with a laugh here and there!

Comedian Chris Ryan joined us a while ago to share her terrible heartbreak after a long-distance relationship ended. She's back with a lovely update on that front and, some firm opinions on our listener questions. A caller asks if she MUST use the apps to date (spoiler alert: no) and a letter-writer seemingly asks for permission to go ENM even though her husband said no. Chris has some firm views on that. Chris asks Nelly an in-depth question and, talks to us about how she thinks we're too quick to dispose of relationships these days. As always, a forthright and funny episode with a feisty broad. Enjoy!

Dearest Nelly finally got the Covid... she's been hit hard and is resting up. BUT, don't fear, we have some stuff we've been saving for a rainy day!
This episode features some never-before-heard material from the Live Show in Sydney with Yumi Stynes, Benjamin Law and Chris Ryan. It also has some clips Sammy has kept aside from previous eps.
And don't fear, Nelly is getting better and we will be back to regular programming very soon.

Dear Nelly favourite - and one of Nelly's bestie - Kirsty Webeck is back for our first ever Thirsty Thirds episodes. Nelly and Kirsty talk about formative film experiences, Kristy's early dating and Kirsty's new tour. Kirsty and Nelly take two great calls; one about dating with kids and the other about how to explore same-sex attraction without using someone as an "experiment". JUICY! We also spend quite some time talking about Nicole Kidman's love life. Enjoy!

Hilary Harper is the host of Life Matters on Radio National. A very accomplished and well-known woman in Australia's media, she's also a mum and human with a personal life. That personal life includes becoming single about 18 months ago when her long-term relationship ended. We chat about what the last 18 months have been like and what it's like dating again. Spoiler alert: she jumped on the apps (not fancy ones, just normal ones like the rest of us) and recently found a new love. A great chat with a much loved and respected radio veteran.

Professor Clare Wright OAM is an award-winning historian, author, broadcaster and public commentator who has worked in politics, academia and the media. Clare is currently Professor of History and Professor of Public Engagement at La Trobe University. Twelve months ago her marriage of 36 years ended and she was thrust into single life - and living alone - for the first time since she was a teenager. We threw out the usual running order for this episode and just sat in the shit. We explored the last 12 months and how the hell to navigate so much change, pain and joy. A fascinating chat with a HUGE brain and even bigger heart.

Danny Blay is a old mate and colleague of Nelly's. They worked together for many years collaborating on sexual health and respectful relationships shows for young people. Danny and Nelly have a long chat about respect, family violence and working with men who use violence against women and children. They also talk about Danny's relationship history, discuss a cracker meme and an awesome listener call about LAT (living apart together). A hard discussion at the start, but necessary and episode does move on to lighter matters.
