City to farm, she's ready to yarn!
Cassandra Grodd is an author, an entrepreneur and a wellness advocate. It would be easy to typecast her, but everyone's journeys have twists, and Cassandra is no different.
From a battling with an eating disorder as a teenager, and struggling to find confidence in herself, she's embraced the idea of fake it until you make it and designed a life so that she can be her best self. In this episode she talks about dedicating time to set up your day and bringing main character energy. I really appreciate how she trusts herself, and I hope you're as inspired by this conversation as I was!

This episode of Slow It Down is a little heavier than we usually go, but it's an important and inspiring story. Janelle Brunton-Rennie is one of the strongest people I know, and she speaks to me this week about navigating losing a partner and how important resilience is when we hit periods of grief in our life.
Grief isn't openly discussed in western culture, and this episode shines a light on what it's like on the inside, and I’m so grateful to be able to share it. Janelle also has some amazing rituals that she has developed to find moments of bliss which she still uses today.
I hope you enjoy the episode and don't forget you can follow along on Instagram where I have an epic Slow It Down giveaway 😉

Joining me this week to Slow It Down is Matilda Green. Matilda and her husband Art also made the move out of the big smoke and in this ep we talk about how they are still learning to slow life down and enjoy the small moments.
I love how Matilda consciously takes time out to have fun with her kids when she's feeling overwhelmed and doesn't take herself too seriously. She also shares how the small acts in community can really make you feel connected, as well as some amazing advice for her younger self.

This week on the show I am joined by Carrie Rad, a YouTuber who made the massive decision to move from the hustle and bustle of LA to rural Wairarapa here in New Zealand.
In this episode we talk about what inspired the intentional slow down and how Carrie made the massive transition plus what it’s been like starting a family on the other side of the world.
Also, how do NZ neighbours stack up internationally and why do you always need to be within 15 minutes of Mitre 10?!
We get an insight into the gorgeous life she is creating with her husband and baby daughter and what brings her back when life feels chaotic.
Hope you enjoy this celebration of making bold choices and small town, country living!

This week I catch up with local gal Alex Morrissey who runs the Little Farms organic grocer here in the Wairarapa. In this ep we chat how she got into organic farming and why it is so important. We also discuss the comparisons between supermarket and organic produce, how to grow your own if you're a newbie, fun hacks for nutrient dense veges and how to not waste food!
Alex is a busy mama of 2 and I so appreciated her taking the time out of her day to inform us more on a topic that is so important and particularly prevalent right now. Check out more from Alex here.

Today on the pod I am joined by the host of The Self-Love Club podcast Bel Crawford. Bel and I used to work together at the radio station ZM and this was the first time catching up in a long time! In this chat we discover a bunch of topics and differentiate self love versus self care. Bel kindly opens up about an eating disorder she experienced when she was in her late teens and discusses how she navigated that in a time when people weren’t so open about mental health (trigger warning: disordered eating). We also talk trusting the process, break ups and feeling the pressure from society as a woman. ALSO we chat knowing you’ve found the one ooh la la! Dig in and let me know your takeaways on Insta at The PJ Podcast page.
Have a good week! Xxx
