On this episode of Club Random, Bill Maher sits down with Rob Riggle for a conversation that moves from war and courage to relationships, politics, and the darker side of power. Riggle reflects on joining the Marines at just 19, how the experience reshaped his confidence, and how he managed to find comedy even there—along with the real difference between physical and moral courage. From there, the conversation pivots into sharp, often funny debates on capitalism vs. communism, the realities of marriage and divorce, and why love still matters even when the odds are stacked against it—before veering, naturally, into golf, where Riggle (dating a pro) breaks down the rules of the game and proves that even in a sport built on honor, there’s always a little Riggle room. And somewhere in the middle of it all, they land on a blunt truth: the people with the most power aren’t always the smartest in the room—just the ones who figured out what they can get away with… which, depending on the week, is either comforting or deeply alarming.

Bill Maher sits down with neuroscientist Andrew Huberman to explore how smartphones, artificial light, and social media are reshaping how we think and connect. Huberman explains why morning sunlight and dark nights are critical for sleep, metabolism, and overall health. The two also dig into biohacking, peptides, and Big Pharma incentives, separating what’s real from what’s hype. They tackle shifting behavior, shrinking attention spans, and the future of health—from mRNA cancer treatments to CRISPR gene editing—along with more unsettling territory, including Jeffrey Epstein’s connections to the scientific world. In the end, they land on a striking truth: “We don’t relate to each other anymore—we relate through a screen."

Bill Maher welcomes Jerry O’Connell to Club Random with Bill Maher for a conversation that jumps from childhood fame to life in Calabasas. Jerry reflects on the unlikely moment that set his career in motion—when director Rob Reiner told the shy kid from Stand by Me to stop holding back and lean into who he was. That advice, he says, changed everything. From there, the two get into Jerry’s marriage to Rebecca Romijn, the surreal experience of being married to someone once married to John Stamos, and the chaos of raising teenagers in Calabasas. Along the way they cover Kourtney Kardashian’s parking etiquette, the Dean Martin school of zero rehearsal, and why ayahuasca is a hard no for both of them.

Bill Maher and Sam Harris go head-to-head on some of the most explosive issues of the moment — and neither pulls punches. Maher defends his dinner with Donald Trump while Harris pushes back hard, sparking a debate that expands into the left’s blind spots, sex differences in sports, media narratives, and the influence of Joe Rogan and podcast culture. Then the conversation turns personal. Harris reflects on nearly losing his home in the Los Angeles fires, while Maher explains why anxiety spirals might actually be a meditation alarm. Along the way they touch on geopolitics, Tucker Carlson, Iran, and the strange state of modern media — proving that when these two talk, nothing is off-limits.

Rock royalty is in the house. Billy Idol sits down with Bill Maher and nothing is off-limits. From snorting heroin backstage to smoking crack to kick the heroin habit (“it worked!”), Idol tells stories that would make most publicists quit on the spot. They swap sharp takes on Frank Sinatra being a drunk bully to his son, debate whether John Lennon could really hold his own without Paul McCartney and trace the Beatles’ takeover of America. Idol reveals how a near-fatal overdose left him turning blue in a hotel room, how a brutal motorcycle accident became his real turning point, and why he now calls himself “California sober.” His new documentary is called Billy Idol Should Be Dead and after this conversation, you’ll understand why he isn’t.

In this unexpectedly reflective Club Random episode, John Mellencamp admits he never listens to his own songs, sometimes forgets he even wrote them, and proudly calls himself "the biggest liar." He talks about growing up in Seymour, Indiana where, as he puts it, there was nothing to do but fight before the conversation widens to Farm Aid's hard realities, the limits of celebrity activism, and his surprisingly warm early encounters with Donald Trump, including a popcorn run at the 1988 Super Bowl. He also talks about his upcoming tour playing the hits some of which he's rarely, or never, performed live. But it's a parting thought that lingers longest: "A writer writes to what he aspires to be, not what he is." Bill's still thinking about that one.

Bill Maher sits down with actor Cary Elwes for a freewheeling conversation that starts with hair jokes and quickly becomes a masterclass in craft, including the moment Al Pacino changed Cary’s life with a simple “work the muscle” speech. They take on Hollywood’s gun obsession, Olivier vs. Brando, Kubrick’s genius (and excess), whether 2001 is transcendent or a sedative, and why A Clockwork Orange still ignites debate decades later. Along the way: Braveheart, Scarface tattoos, and Catholic guilt. They cancel hell, roast John Wick, and somehow land on the idea of Pacino as God in Purgatory.

Comedian and Podcaster Adam Carolla joins Bill Maher for a blunt conversation that moves from Hollywood war stories to California’s political dysfunction. They unpack the reality of entertainment careers—how early wins create false confidence and why setbacks are unavoidable. Carolla revisits his early breaks with Loveline and The Man Show, while Maher reflects on losing his father just before Politically Incorrect took off. The conversation then widens to identity politics and DEI backlash, overregulation and government bloat, discipline versus Ozempic shortcuts, and how Carolla’s emotionally distant upbringing shaped his independence and worldview—before giving way to classic Club Random humor, from Pop-Tarts to Elvis and strip-club metaphors.

NFL legend Marshawn Lynch joins Bill for a conversation that bounces from football philosophy to strip club etiquette. Marshawn shares stories from his playing days, how Ray Lewis read him like a book his rookie year and the mental chess game that separates Hall of Famers from everyone else. They clash over Damar Hamlin’s on-field collapse and whether that game should have been canceled: logic vs. emotion, fans vs. optics. From there, the conversation swerves into classic Club Random territory, as they bond over Barbra Streisand fan mail, Ricky Williams as weed’s original martyr, locker-room backstabbing, why some franchises stay perpetually broken and what scared Marshawn in Bill’s bathroom — let’s just say, we’re all family now.

ABOUT CLUB RANDOM
Bill Maher rewrites the rules of podcasting the way he did in television in this series of one on one, hour long conversations with a wide variety of unexpected guests in the undisclosed location called Club Random. There’s a whole big world out there that isn’t about politics and Bill and his guests—from Bill Burr and Jerry Seinfeld to Jordan Peterson, Quentin Tarantino and Neil DeGrasse Tyson—talk about all of it.

ABOUT BILL MAHER
Bill Maher was the host of “Politically Incorrect” (Comedy Central, ABC) from 1993-2002, and for the last fourteen years on HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher’s combination of unflinching honesty and big laughs have garnered him 40 Emmy nominations. Maher won his first Emmy in 2014 as executive producer for the HBO series, “VICE.” In October of 2008, this same combination was on display in Maher’s uproarious and unprecedented swipe at organized religion, “Religulous.”
Maher has written five bestsellers: “True Story,” “Does Anybody Have a Problem with That? Politically Incorrect’s Greatest Hits,” “When You Ride Alone, You Ride with Bin Laden,” “New Rules: Polite Musings from a Timid Observer,” and most recently, “The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody But Me Has Their Head Up Their Ass.”
