Manchester United are out of the Carabao Cup after throwing away a two-goal lead in a damaging defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford.

United started well, with Shea Lacey enjoying his big moment and Mason Mount making it 2-0, but what followed was another alarming collapse as Brighton took control of the game and exposed familiar problems in Michael Carrick’s side.
