Impending Doomsday: Where Are Shang-Chi, Ant-Man & Dr. Strange?

In this episode of our monthly series leading up to Avengers: Doomsday, Jason and Rosie spotlight confirmed returning heroes Shang-Chi and Ant-Man, along with heavily speculated additions like Doctor Strange, Monica Rambeau (aka Photon), Ms. Marvel, and more. They explore why Shang-Chi hasn’t appeared in another film in nearly six years, what roles Doctor Strange and Monica could play in Doomsday, and how likely other unconfirmed Phase 4 and 5 characters are to show up. Next, they revisit the films and TV shows released in Phases 4 and 5, along with the behind-the-scenes developments that shaped those eras, including Disney CEO leadership changes and Marvel’s pivot away from Kang and Jonathan Majors toward Doctor Doom. To close, they dig into lingering questions from unresolved plot threads, including several post-Endgame credit scenes.

DCU Deep Dive: Bat vs Bat, Supergirl, Paramount Skydance Takeover

Jason and Rosie take a deep dive into all things DCU. Can two different Batman franchises coexist, or should Matt Reeves’s The Batman be folded into the DCU proper? With Supergirl shaping up as the next major release on the DCU slate, they dig into concerns about how the film will fare, and how Warner Bros. and DC are using Milly Alcock in its promotion. The conversation then turns to what’s ahead, including Lanterns, Clayface, and Man of Tomorrow, before closing with the looming Paramount–Skydance acquisition of Warner Bros. What could this mean for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s leadership and for the future of the announced DCU slate?

Alan Moore on Writing, Magic, and the Hidden History of London

Alan Moore has just finished writing Book 3 of his Long London Quintet — and he sat down with Rosie to talk about it. In a wide-ranging conversation, the legendary writer of Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and From Hell takes us into "the other London": the hidden city of lost magicians, gangsters, and forgotten showmen that runs beneath the one everyone else sees. They get into why he declared himself a magician in 1993 and then had to live up to it, why prose is the most elegant art form ever invented, why he's done with comics (again), and what the riots of 1968 have to teach us right now. He closes with a message for these times: love and fight.

Is 'Widow’s Bay' Better Than 'Lost'?

Jason and Rosie have crossed the invisible border into the first seven episodes of Widow's Bay, exploring its unique blend of horror, comedy, and the supernatural. Luckily, they weren't born on the island, so they've returned to the mainland to answer the most pressing questions. Is Patricia the best character on television? Is horror-comedy even a real genre? Is it brave to check the crawl space in the haunted hotel, or just stupid? Is a mystery box with an answer better than an infinite mystery?
