Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell have great news to share … (00:52) Lee Gilley — the Houston man accused of strangling his wife, killing her and their unborn baby — has been officially indicted by the Grand Jury. This is a big deal — especially considering he’s yet another man with resources who seems to think he can buy his way out of consequence with a pricey defense team that includes the likes of Robert Durst’s attorney, Dick DeGuerin, and maybe even an image consultant, based on his public behavior as of late.
Also on the show, Mandy and Liz take listeners on their first deep dive into the killing of (11:15) Scott Spivey of Tabor City, North Carolina. Thirty-three-year-old Scott was shot to death in a hail of bullets in September 2023 on a rural highway in Horry County, South Carolina. His shooters were never charged in his death and the case was closed in April 2024. But now the FBI has been asked to take a look at the evidence and the No. 2 officer at Horry County Police Department — a good friend of one of the shooters — is under criminal investigation.
And yes, that’s the same police department that let Mica Francis down time and again in the lead-up to her death … when she reported multiple times that she was being stalked by her estranged husband, “Pastor” John-Paul Miller in Myrtle Beach. And no one would listen... maybe now their ears will perk up.

[3:37] Hear the latest developments in the tragic and suspicious 2021 drowning death of Chris Skinner, the quadriplegic husband of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, “Pastor” John-Paul Miller’s girlfriend, Suzi. In 2024 — after watching video footage of Skinner’s final moments and seeing that it didn’t seem like his drowning was an “accident” — Mandy and Liz called on the Myrtle Beach Coroner’s Office to reopen its investigation into Skinner’s death. This past week, that second investigation was finally announced publicly.

The story of Johnnie Jacobs — aka the “fisherman” who heard Mica crying until it was stopped by what he said was a single gunshot — raised a lot of red flags over the past year after he admitted taking Mica’s purse, leaving the park and then returning with it to hand over to police. This week, investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell — with the help of reporter and researcher Beth Braden — share Part One of the elusive 1989 WPDE investigative news report on the sexual allegations against JP Miller’s father (exclusively obtained by LunaShark Media through a whole lot of peskiness. Up until today this news segment hasn’t been available to the public … possibly since 1993 when it last aired in the Florence and Myrtle Beach areas.
Today, we dive in deep on previously unknown information about alleged sex predator Wayne Miller and the cover-up that he and his colleagues appeared to take part in.
Also on the show, Horry County Police Department reopens its (pathetic) investigation into the 2023 shooting death of North Carolina man Scott Spivey. On Wednesday — just one day after the resignation of Horry County assistant police chief Brandon Strickland — Horry County announced that there were unresolved questions in the closed case and it was being referred to the FBI. What’s weird is that Strickland appears to have been friends with at one of the shooters, North Myrtle Beach restaurant owner Weldon Boyd. And what’s even more strange is the case already underwent a review by SLED and South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson’s office. Does does this mean there’s a chance of Scott’s family seeing justice?

This week, investigative journalists — Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell — broke news that a second Jane Doe case had been filed against Myrtle Beach pastor John-Paul Miller, accusing him of sexually abusing a 14-year-old student at Cathedral Hall Academy (formerly known as Grand Strand Academy), a school owned JP’s father Wayne Miller, who is named as a co-defendant in the case.
In 1999, when JP Miller was 20 years old he allegedly molested the child after inviting her to play piano with him alone in the church sanctuary. The girl told a teacher about what JP allegedly did and instead of the school offering the child help, she was forced to write “I will not lie about JP Miller” 5,000 times.
Mandy and Liz break down the latest allegations against the Millers and share text messages between JP, his ex-wife and Mica from 2022 or before that addresses the child sexual abuse allegations against JP.
Also on the show, part one of the history of the Millers’ alleged scheme to use their school as a staging ground for abuse. Plus an update on the Justice for Mica protesters and JP’s frivolous lawsuits against them.

Investigative journalists — Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell — broke major news this past Tuesday with the announcement that Myrtle Beach pastor JP Miller has been accused of raping a 15-year-old girl at his father’s church, Cathedral Baptist Church (formerly All Nations Church), in 1998 and again sexually assaulting her in 2023.
The lawsuit was filed by Jane Doe No. 1 against John-Paul Miller, Reginald Wayne Miller, and their churches, including Solid Rock Ministries. Mandy and Liz share details of the lawsuit while connecting the dots on what was happening in JP’s life at the time.
Plus, they sit for an interview with Rock Hill attorney Randy Hood of McGowan, Hood, Felder and Phillips law firm, who is representing Jane, to learn more about Jane’s case and what the world of litigating institutional child sexual abuse looks like. Hood is no stranger to suing churches on behalf of sexual assault victims. He also represents clients in the case against Morningstar Fellowship Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
On Tuesday, Mandy and Liz also broke the very important news that attorney Mark Tinsley from the Murdaugh Murders trial — aka Zero Dark Tinsley and Tiger Tinsley — is also representing Jane in her case against the Millers.

Once again, investigative journalists — aka “bloggers,” “viral podcasters,” “spewers of bilious screed” and “self-proclaimed journalists”— Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell have to tear up the script as their usual onslaught of breaking news hits on production day … but this time, they only have themselves to blame.
On Tuesday, Mandy received a tip that thrice-accused rapist Bowen Turner, of Orangeburg, South Carolina, had been at his county golf course that morning throwing back beers in direct violation of his latest parole conditions. With receipts in hand, Mandy immediately went to the authorities and ole Bowen Turner was arrested that evening.
On today’s episode, Mandy and Liz talk about the behind the scenes of Bowen’s latest run-in with the law and what happens next, plus they share recordings of Bowen talking with his parents in the days before and after his latest parole hearing this past September. One thing they learned? Bowen’s dad had predicted Bowen’s golf club demise on Tuesday.
Also on the show, the latest in the Mica Francis case and JP Miller’s collection of frivolous lawsuits against peaceful protesters — including an email that JP sent to three of the defendants’ lawyer, offering his unsolicited ideas on how they can settle his cases against them.

Investigative journalists — aka “bloggers,” “viral podcasters,” “spewers of bilious screed” and “self-proclaimed journalists”— Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell continue their in-depth coverage of the Mica Francis case with the latest on Pastor JP Miller’s legal bullying of protesters and content creators.
On Wednesday, two more cases against the protesters were dropped, making that three out of 33. Already, JP’s sloppy attempts at silencing his detractors are being called out in court.
Also on the show, a rundown of the accusations JP is making against the protesters and creators and a look at court documents that outline what appears to have been an ethically ambiguous relationship between JP and a neighbor, who purports to be a member of the media and therefore protected from JP’s legal retaliations.
As JP seeks to once again take Jan Lancaster to court, Mandy and Liz explore the reasons why this one case should be considered separately from the solitary injustice happening with the rest of the protester-defendants.

Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell continue shining sunlight on the Mica Francis story.
On today’s episode, a former church member being sued by JP Miller turns the tables on him with a fiery counterclaim. According to court filings, THREE DAYS before Mica’s death, JP asked this church member to write “Dedicated to Mica” on the website of the church’s Dare2Care program, a mission that was important to Mica. Was this unfortunate timing? Or does this point to something more nefarious?
The former church member also accuses JP of using his pulpit to shame and bully Mica and of retaliation after the church member and his wife decided they’d had enough of him and left the church. Also on the show, in one of the most deranged calls to 911 yet, JP tells police that protesters are yelling the 'n-word' at church members and could “pull a gun” at any minute and he describes them as blondes, wearing sweaters and no makeup.
