What does real faith actually look like?

In Matthew 9, we see two desperate people come to Jesus, not with pride or perfection, but with need. A father believing for his daughter. A woman reaching in faith after years of suffering. And Jesus meets both of them right there.

This message reminds us that it’s not about how much faith you have, but where you place it. When your need outweighs your ego, you’ll finally surrender. 

Desperation isn’t weakness, it’s the starting point of faith. Because it’s not over until Jesus says it’s over.

This episode dives into Matthew 9 and the calling of Matthew, highlighting how Jesus meets us right in the middle of our sin and calls us to follow Him.

Through personal stories of salvation, repentance, and transformation, we see that faith becomes real when the gospel moves from something we’ve heard to something we personally receive.

Following Jesus isn’t about comfort— it’s about surrender.

In today's episode, we dive deeper into Pastor Joby's sermon on Matthew 7:15-29. How can you be sure you are saved? It's not by doing enough religious activity. Only through trusting in the finished work of Jesus can we have assurance. 

As Jesus closes out the Sermon on the Mount, He warns us about following false prophets or building our life on anything other than Him. We will only weather the storms of life when Jesus is the center and the bedrock on which we build.

What do you want out of life? Do you want people to be impressed by how holy you seem to be?
