What does it really mean to surrender your life to Jesus, and is following Him worth the cost?

As we continue through Matthew 27, Pastor Joby Martin, Pastor Ryan Britt and Pastor Jonathan Vinke unpack the trial and crucifixion of Jesus, examining the choices of Pilate, Peter and Judas. Each faced a defining moment, reminding us that knowing about Jesus is not the same as surrendering to Him.

Through Peter's denial and restoration, we see that failure does not have to be final. Through Pilate's fear of losing control, we are challenged to consider what we are willing to surrender to follow Christ. And through the cross, we are reminded that Jesus took our place so that we could experience true freedom and eternal life.

The question remains: What will you do with the One called Christ?

In Matthew 26, we see two very different responses to Jesus.

Mary pours out what is most valuable to her in extravagant worship, while Judas chooses to betray Him. Her response reminds us that following Jesus means surrendering our agenda, our resources and ultimately our lives to Him.

In this episode of Deepen, we unpack what this passage teaches us about worship, generosity and lordship, and what it looks like to believe that Jesus is worthy of our all.

What does the Bible actually teach about the end times, and how should followers of Jesus respond?

In this episode of the Deepen Podcast, Pastor Joby and the team unpack different Christian views of the end times, including the millennium, tribulation, rapture and the return of Christ. While faithful Christians may disagree on exactly how these events unfold, we can stand firm on what Scripture makes clear: Jesus is coming back, evil will be defeated and those who belong to Christ will be with Him forever.

The goal isn’t to have every detail figured out. It’s to know Christ, stay ready and make Him known.

What happens when following the rules becomes more important than knowing the heart of God?

This week on Deepen, we’re talking hypocrisy, legalism, grace and what it looks like to follow Jesus from the inside out. In Matthew 23, Jesus confronts the Pharisees for looking righteous on the outside while missing what matters most.

The challenge for us is not just to see where they got it wrong, but to look in the mirror and ask where we may be doing the same.

What changes when God stops being a character in your story and you start seeing yourself as part of His?

This week on Deepen, we’re talking lordship, identity, surrender and what it really looks like to let God have the final say. Because everything belongs to Him, following Jesus isn’t about fitting Him into the life we’ve already planned. It’s about surrendering every part of our lives to Him.
