    A candid conversation with Anne-Marie Lacey S8 E8

Anne-Marie Lacey is a multi-award-winning Chartered PR practitioner, strategic adviser and Senior Lecturer at Newcastle University.

She combines real-world experience with evidence-based thinking to develop strategic communicators and strengthen the profession.

Her career spans agency, consultancy, in-house advisory and higher education, having worked with organisations in the lifestyle, leisure and entertainment sectors, including some of the world's best-known brands.

A CIPR Fellow and recipient of the Sir Stephen Tallents Medal, Anne-Marie has lived the membership journey, spending almost 15 years volunteering across the Institute, from Student Representative to Board Director. Those experiences have given her a unique perspective on the strengths of the Institute and the opportunities to do even more for members.

The news was announced this week that she's currently standing for CIPR President-Elect 2027.

I've known her for nearly a decade and wanted to give my listeners a chance to find out more about the news and her reasons for putting her hat in the ring.

    Listen to discover:

    • why she's decided to put herself forward now
    • the role of belonging and relevancy within membership associations
    • her strong views on lobbying and why share of voice and representation matters

    Thank you for tuning in.

How to join the All Things IC Inner Circle S7 E10

This episode of the Candid Comms podcast is for you if you are a comms leader.

Maybe you’re a head of comms, a chief communications officer or senior IC manager.

If you are working in such a position, everything you say, everything you write, everything you advise feels up for scrutiny and it often is.

Bearing in mind my own experience from working in-house, I know how lonely it can be when you are at the top, when you are the most senior comms person inside your organisation.

What’s often missing is a sense of community, a safe space and a confidential sounding board where you can ask for help and test your ideas before going back into your organisation.

This is why the All Things IC Inner Circle exists. I launched them in 2020 and have been running cohorts since 2021.

Six in-house IC pros and I work together for three months at a time via masterminds and power hours.
