How Deanne Geddes Went from technophobe to building an online nurse coaching business and generating her first $6K

Deanne shares how, while completing her master’s and working as a student facilitator she loved, a difficult workplace and nervous system collapse forced her to step back, prompting her to start sharing support online and eventually create “Grad Nurse Coach.”

After moving back to Brisbane and recovering her health, she joined MPA to turn her idea into a real business despite being a “tech phobe,” building functional Facebook and Instagram pages, joining student/new grad groups, setting up email funnels and a Stan Store, and improving copywriting.

She discusses viral posts reaching 70,000+ views, emphasising impact over vanity metrics, and outlines her six-month “Thrive” program to build new grads’ capacity to navigate culture, shift work, and burnout prevention, growing from $0 calls to a $2,700 program while prioritising self-care and flexibility.

How Jodie Eade went from Nurse to Million Dollar Coach generating >$75K inside NPA

Jodie shares her path from returning to nursing later in life and struggling through a difficult graduate year to building her third business as a systems-focused business coach.

After realising casual nursing required years of full-time work and feeling trapped, she explored other options, then—encouraged by her partner—chose to build a coaching business instead of working for others.

Jodie explains how she helps service-based businesses improve the end-to-end client experience through operations, standard operating procedures, delegation, automation, and systems that can later integrate with AI, plus planning social content and strengthening customer service follow-up.

She describes rapidly raising prices from low-cost sessions to audits starting at $2,000 and six-month coaching packages up to $20,000, alongside results like doubling a client’s turnover in three months and reaching a planned $1M milestone early.

Jodie now works casual nursing and emphasises rest, life design, networking, and getting a coach.

How Trina Pitts built a scalable online business whilst juggling life as a busy mum/wife!

Trina Pits shares how workplace bullying and long-term burnout in nursing led her to step away, set boundaries, and reflect on what lit her up, ultimately inspiring her to build a coaching business supporting nurse wellbeing and growth.

The Episode I Almost Didn't Share

I almost didn't share this one.

I've been sitting on this episode for a while now, telling myself it wasn't the right time.

Trigger: I talk about ADHD, Complex PTSD and Trauma.

    That it was too raw.

That we were heading into launch season and this wasn't the kind of content you share when you're trying to grow a business.

And then I realised that thinking was exactly the problem I talk about in this episode.

    So here it is.

Over the last six to eight months I have been through the most confronting, transformative, and ultimately liberating period of my life.

And what I found underneath all of it changed everything.

In this episode I'm talking about:

What it felt like the first day I took Vyvanse and experienced silence in my mind for the first time at 33 years old — and why I cried

Why I almost left my relationship of 12 years — and what I found when I stayed

What EMDR therapy actually is, how it works, and why I think every nurse who has worked in the healthcare system needs to understand it

The connection between adverse childhood experiences, nursing culture, nervous system dysregulation, and why your business hasn't grown the way you wanted it to

Why I believe no one can build a sustainable, profitable business from a nervous system that has never been taught it's safe to stop

What has genuinely shifted for me — in my body, my relationships, my capacity, and how I move through the world — and what it means for how I now show up inside NPA

The thing I kept coming back to throughout this entire process is that so many of us nurses came to healthcare because we were already carrying something.

And the system didn't heal that.

It layered on top of it.

And then we try to build businesses — to create freedom and income and impact — while all of that is still running silently in the background, shaping every decision, every price we set, every time we stop ourselves at the edge of the thing we most want.

You cannot strategy your way out of a nervous system problem.

This is the most honest episode I've ever recorded.

I hope it lands for whoever needs it.

5 Lessons I Learned in NursePreneurship in 2025 (And What I’m Doing Differently in 2026)

This is the final episode of the Nursepreneur Academy podcast for 2025, and we are closing the year with a honest behind the scenes debrief.

In this episode, Liam shares the five biggest lessons he learned in nursepreneurship this year, how an adult ADHD diagnosis changed everything, and what he is intentionally doing differently in 2026 to build a sustainable, multiple six figure nurse led business.

This is not a highlight reel. It is the real, messy, human truth of growing a business, getting sick six times in a year, navigating ADHD burnout, reconnecting with creativity, and learning to build a business that supports your nervous system instead of burning it out.

In this episode, Liam talks about:

    • Why 2025 was his highest income year in business, even while being sick more than ever
    • How managing his energy and nervous system created more growth than trying to manage time perfectly
    • Getting diagnosed with ADHD and finally understanding years of burnout, crashes, and self doubt
    • Why doubling down on one offer and one ecosystem worked, and where that advice was too rigid for a neurodivergent brain
    • The tension between focus and novelty, and how he plans to honour both in 2026
    • How having fewer clients but more support (coaches, editors, trainers, teachers) grew his income and joy
    • Why simple, human content often outperforms polished, overly strategic content
    • What it really takes to build a long term, personal brand based business in a nervous system informed way
    • How reconnecting with creativity and play  singing, piano, dance, theatre  is now a non negotiable business strategy
    • Why your nervous system capacity and ability to receive support will determine your success more than your niche, funnel, or offer

By the end of this episode, you will feel seen in your own 2025 journey, have language for some of the challenges you may have faced, and walk away with practical lenses to take into 2026 so you can build a business that is profitable, sustainable, and kind to your brain and body.
