Linda Marigliano's Tough Love

Linda Marigliano

Tough love lessons on all the shit that counts.

  • 33 minutes 9 seconds
    Any Minute Now

While Linda waits for her new arrival, she excitedly checks in with her Australian family and receives a dry dose of long distance reality from her parents. Meanwhile, Linda’s best friend shares her very recent birth story and the hilariously unplanned nuances of new motherhood.

In the short moments before her life changes, Linda and Magnus also need to move house. After years of her long distance relationship and fertility uncertainty, she’s now waiting for the day. And with heavy anticipation (and some fears) around the inevitable birth, Linda has Magnus by her side and so far from where she started this story.

We’ll be taking a moment to pause Linda Marigliano’s Tough Love story here, returning with episodes after a brief parental leave hiatus. We’re continually giving thanks to the folk who have helped tell this story so far this season: Amelia, Adair with Tough Love, Melody, Maia, Amber and Evie at twntythree, Danielle and Lauren from Pandora … We’re eternally grateful to every guest who has generously given their time to featuring and sharing the series. And most importantly, thank YOU for listening. We love you.

    Israa Nasir: Reclaim Your Time

What is your relationship like with productivity? In an effort to leave her "To Do List" behind, Linda is in New York this week and takes a moment to meet psychotherapist & author Israa Nasir (Toxic Productivity) to talk through some real tough love lessons about equality & equity in our day-to-day relationships, and ways we can learn to chill out and rethink our relationship with being always ‘on’ and productive.

When life can seem like a never-ending cycle of checklists and milestones, Linda wonders how she can surrender, learn to take a moment without achieving anything … especially when motherhood and life with a newborn is just around the corner.

Find Israa on IG @well.guide and you can read more about her book ‘Toxic Productivity: Reclaim Your Time and Emotional Energy in a World That Always Demands More’ www.israanasir.com/toxic-productivity where you can Pre Order now!

    Genie Bouchard: Rethinking Perfection

This week, Linda has been rethinking her relationship with perfection and has invited the perfect player over for afternoon snacks. Professional tennis and pickleball player Genie Bouchard has spent her lifetime aiming for the top, and is in constant reassessment with the sacrifices and the discipline it has taken to be such a high achiever.

Linda and Genie talk through the ways they’ve learned to relax, how Genie’s life in the spotlight has made it difficult to find trust in her adult relationships… and how life is a little messy sometimes, and that’s ok.
