A calm and clear conversation with Sagar, senior staff writer at The Caravan. We speak about why Bihar is more than a broken state, how caste politics really works on the ground, and how election season gets distorted by the memification of leaders who should not be elevated in the first place. He explains the gap between lived reality and the stories told by mainstream media, the truth behind the jungle raj label, and why Bihar has been misread for so long. Tune in for a grounded look at a state that carries more history, complexity, and dignity than the usual headlines allow.Watch Uncensored Cut and many other member only videos on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/posts/video-new-member-138495655?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_linkOr on Youtube Membership: Support Us: Click JOIN button to become a member- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBnXbbY81TwRJ1DxsyKZV6Q/joinOne time Payment support to keep the podcast running: https://rzp.io/l/mAM9AWHnq BuyMeACoffee: buymeacoffee.com/Anuragminus

This week on the AMV Podcast, I speak with Mangesh Dahiwale, writer, Buddhist thinker, and one of the most articulate voices of the Ambedkarite movement. I asked him to explain Buddhism in the simplest way possible, and what followed was a reflection on loneliness, peace of mind, and what it means to be human in a restless world.

I spoke to a law student in Kathmandu who had been part of the Nepal protest. He suggested that the so-called Gen Z protest was not only about Gen Z, and that there were many unknown forces behind it. We discuss how the protest was made, how it was organised, who gained, the future it points to, and the contradictions buried in what the media so casually labelled a Gen Z revolt. There is far more going on here. Watch here, and support us for making more of these conversations possible.

In this episode, I’m joined by Sumit Samos and Shainal Verma to talk about Bollywood’s long, uneasy relationship with caste, in the context of Dhadak 2. We look at where it the Indian cinema gets politics wrong, the rare moments it gets it right, and what it would take to make an anti-caste film that actually hits hard. The conversation is also about the caste politics of Tamil Nadu and and how cinema there handles caste and also on the pyschoological conflicts in anti-caste marriages, and much more.
