Podcast by Dani Sheriff
In this episode, Dani and Ashley continue their conversation about Ashley’s journey through HA recovery, this time focusing on the challenges of recovering while navigating Ulcerative Colitis. Ashley shares how her symptoms were exacerbated by restriction and HA and how working with Dani helped her push through the discomfort—something she wouldn’t have done on her own.
One of the biggest takeaways from Ashley’s journey? She got pregnant naturally shortly after recovering—despite countless doctors telling her she would need fertility treatments.

In this episode, Dani and her client Ashley dive into Ashley’s long and emotional journey to an HA diagnosis. From being diagnosed with Crohn’s at 13 to years of yo-yo dieting, macro tracking, and bodybuilding, Ashley’s pursuit of health was filled with confusion and frustration. Despite knowing her missing period wasn’t normal, she struggled to find answers—turning to naturopaths, endless internet searches, and restrictive diets like paleo and carnivore, yet never coming across HA. It wasn’t until she found The HA Society that everything changed.
Ashley’s story is one that so many can relate to—the endless search for answers, the fear of weight gain, and the frustration of being dismissed. Stay Tuned for part two next week where she tells us how she recovered and got pregnant!

In this episode, Dani, Ashley, and Mishi dive into what it really means to create a therapeutic dose of safety for your body. This conversation was sparked by a team call discussing a client who has made big changes—but her body still needs more to feel truly safe.
Recovery isn’t just about doing “enough.” It’s about giving your body the deep rest it requires, not just easing into maintenance and expecting things to shift. If you’re struggling to slow down, this episode is your reminder that true rest is non-negotiable.

Kelsey got her period back on her own but lost her second cycle after slipping into old habits. That’s when she joined coaching, realizing she needed more than just physical changes—she had to shift her mindset, too.
In this episode, Kelsey shares how her definition of health kept her stuck. She opens up about the mental and emotional challenges of recovery, including the discomfort of stepping outside her comfort zone and experiencing validation withdrawal—where external praise fades, making self-trust even more crucial. Enjoy!

In this episode, Ashley sits down with Gwyn Drabek to discuss her powerful journey through hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA) recovery. Like so many women, Gwyn was doing all the right things—or so she thought. She tried every approach to regain her period except the one that actually worked: eating more and resting.
From veganism to juice cleanses, fasting, functional medicine, and endless supplements, Gwyn was searching for a solution that wouldn’t require her to change her "healthy" lifestyle. But once she finally let go of restriction and embraced true nourishment, her body responded.
Now, as a soon-to-be dietitian, Gwyn’s experience has completely reshaped how she views health and nutrition. No more cutting out foods, striving for perfection, or obsessing over "clean eating." Instead, she’s on a mission to help others find balance in a world dominated by diet culture.

In this episode, Dani sits down with Makayla Russo, a graduate of the HHAP certification, to discuss her recovery journey and how discovering the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) changed her life. They dive into why understanding your body's signals is so empowering, how FAM helps build trust in the recovery process, and why more women should have access to this life-changing knowledge.
As we launch the HHAP certification, this conversation is a perfect reminder of how this program can transform not just your own recovery but also your ability to help others. Now, Makayla has her own coaching business, teaching women to understand and trust their bodies.

In this episode, Ashley sits down with her past client, a former queen of biohacking, who spent 11 years chasing every optimization trick in the book—keto, carnivore, endless supplements, and every functional test imaginable. She did everything except the one thing that actually mattered: nourishing her body.
Like so many women, she thought she was doing everything “right.” But the truth? Health isn’t about biohacking or trying to out smart your body—it’s about the foundations. No amount of fasting, testing, or supplementation can replace what your body actually needs: enough food, enough rest, and true balance.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing “all the right things” but still struggling, this episode is for you. It’s time to see past the smoke and mirrors and reclaim real health.

In this episode, Emily Stenseth shares her HA recovery journey—not to get pregnant, but to reclaim her health and life. We dive into the pressures of chasing a revenge body after a break-up and the misleading health advice from TikTok. Emily opens up about the subtle control mechanisms—like clock-watching and rigid eating rules—that held her back, even when everything else seemed “right.”
Her story is a powerful reminder that sometimes it’s the smallest habits that have the biggest impact on your body’s ability to feel safe. Now, Emily’s life is fuller because she is fuller—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

In this episode, Dani, Ashley, and Mishi dive into the concept of the “hill you’re willing to die on” in recovery. We all have beliefs we refuse to budge on—but at what cost? Many women want both full recovery and to hold onto certain habits or mindsets, yet struggle with the reality that rigidity comes with sacrifice.
We explore how culture tells us we can have it all, but in reality, true healing requires flexibility. If you’re feeling stuck, this episode will challenge you to reflect on what you’re holding onto—and whether it’s worth what you’re giving up.
