Keyboardist Jimmy Waldo of legendary band Alcatrazz joins Non-Stop Rock Talk to discuss many things in terms of the bands latest release entitled 'Prior Convictions' on BraveWords Records, working with amazing guitarists like Yngwie J. Malmsteen and Steve Vai on the bands prior work and of course current guitarist Joe Stump.
There is so much conversation that touches on so many great musicians of the era. For Tyson to discuss these things with Jimmy is such an honor. Jimmy talks of his love for guitarists like Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eddie Van Halen.
The segment goes into Jimmy discussing his work with Vinnie Vincent on 'Warrior: The Complete Sessions'. These sessions are quite a great listen as many of the songs ended up on later Vinnie Vincent Invasion albums. Songs like "That Time of Year", "Back on the Streets" and "Boys Are Gonna Rock" are all included in this package. "Tears" which was recorded by John Waite is in these recordings. There are also unreleased songs like "Gypsy In Her Eyes" and "It's Not Pretty (Being Easy)" that all come up in discussion.
Jimmy and Tyson both agree that Vinnie is a brilliant songwriter who could have been in a class with Desmond Child, Jack Ponti and Holly Knight.
As a singer, Vinnie has a brilliant voice. He could have fronted the Vinnie Vincent Invasion but chose Robert Fleishman and Mark Slaughter to emulate all his great songs as Vinnie wanted a singer who sang in a higher register. There is a feeling that Vinnie didn't need to hire a singer.
The discussion also touches on Vinnie as a guitar player and how we both feel that he didn't need to puke all over the songs with his intense playing. It was the 80's and it seems that Vinnie felt pressure to keep up with the likes of Yngwie, Vai and Van Halen.
There is so much respect for Vinnie Vincent as a musician. There is just a feeling that maybe he got in his own head too much that lead to his leaving the business for many years.

A 5 disc box set which embodies the bands whole catalog. Not only is it the bands E.P. and 2 full length releases but also includes instrumental versions of the songs, live material and unreleased songs.
Phil and Tyson also discuss the Marshall JMP-1 which Phil used for years and the Fractal he uses live now is modeled after the JMP-1. A laugh is had between Phil and Tyson as they elude to the fact that the JMP-1 is now collecting dust in the attic. The Ibanez Destroyer is also mentioned and what pick-ups Phil is using in all his guitars these days.
The Def Leppard album 'Slang' is discussed and how the bands approach in recording was much different then previous albums before.
His work on the Delta Deep album is talked about and how Phil attempted slide guitar for the first time on that album. The album also had guest appearances by David Coverdale and Joe Elliott.
Truly a great discussion from a legendary guitarist and Tyson learned something along the way!

Paul and Tyson discuss some of the material included and talk about the elements of what each member brings to the sound of Manraze.
Paul discusses The Sex Pistols tour of North America this coming fall. Tyson mentions to Paul about still playing the songs from 'Never Mind The Bullocks' after all these years and if it still feels the same as it did all those years ago. The question is also posed if the band have considered recording new material and what it might sound like in 2026.

Alex discussed his collaboration with Slash collaborator and current Triumph memeber Todd Kerns. As Alex states, it was working with the 'Canadian Mafia' as the band also worked with Nickelback producer Chris Baseford.
The bands back catalog is also discussed. The bands debut full-length album was guided under the direction of eight-time Grammy winning mixer Michael Brauer. This was an album that blended a modern heaviness with a polished arena-ready production style. The album features a great cover of Audioslave's 'Cochise'.
The conversation goes into discussing Alex's love for Metallica and seeing the band live 10 times. Black Sonic Pearls did a great cover of the Metallica classic song 'Fuel'. Alex eludes to the fact that his favorite Metallica albums are from the 90's - 'Load' and 'Re-Load' - which may be surprising to some, but the conversation talks about why these albums are so great right down to the production of Bob Rock. There is depth within the music which may have alienated some fans, but these albums really have so much 'soul and emotion' as quoted by Alex. Songs such as '2 X 4', 'Ronnie' and 'The House That Jack Built' are brought up.
Of course talking of more recent Metallica albums - 'St. Anger' is brought up and Alex elaborates on his feelings towards that release. His biggest issue with the album his how singer James Hetfield may have lost something vocally.

Steve West and Rob Marcello of Danger Danger are brought up. Tyson is a huge Danger Danger/Defiants fan. So the conversation is a matter of two guys just sitting down and talking rock in the form of everything pertaining to all things associated with Paul Laine/Danger Danger/Defiants.

It becomes very obvious when listening to this interview with Drew that the vision of the show really sheds light on how special this era in music truly was! With that said, it is a testament to both Drew and Jim for keeping it alive through the show!
'Get on the Bus' provides the viewer a lot of great guests - Steven Adler, Phil Collen, Tommy Aldridge, Dana Strum and Bobby Blotzer just to name a few. The content is truly worth checking out!
Drew also fills Tyson in on what is coming in the future. A who's who of great artists that are all worth a listen!
The honest truth about this interview - the first 40 minutes of content is in regards to 'Get on the Bus'. Drew goes in depth about the behind the scenes work that goes into the show.
Drew and Tyson do switch gears and discuss Wildside. The topic of the bands 2nd 'Self-Titled' release is discussed. This was an album that was more in the 90's vein. It has a vibe that is of the times. It shows Drew delivering a more lower register vocal with a bit of attitude. It comes across believable. It is an absolute great listen. All these years later, Drew really sheds light on where Wildside was in the mid-90's.

Non-Stop Rock Talk proudly presents Billy Sheehan to discuss his latest participation in Cactus's latest album 'Temple of Blues II' which of course is a project created by legendary drummer Carmine Appice.
Billy also talks about the reformation of Talas. For those that may not know, Talas is the band which Billy played with before joining David Lee Roth. Based out of Buffalo which is only two hours from Toronto (where Non-Stop Rock Talk is based), the discussion talks of Billy playing at The Gasworks and Larry's Hideaway back in his early years.
Amongst rock talk, Billy gives us a great history lesson on the Erie Canal, which runs from Buffalo to New York City. Tyson had recently taken a trip to Rochester so the irony of the timing of the interview adds a personal level to the interview.
Tyson asks Billy about his first impressions of playing with DLR Band drummer Gregg Bissonette. Being that Gregg had a jazz background, Billy eludes to the fact that Gregg could easily play rock and jazz with amazing proficiency. From Billy there discusses how the whole DLR Band came together.
Tyson asks Billy about his influence on the track 'Ladies Night in Buffalo' and how it was just a phrase that he had mentioned and David Lee Roth ran with it.
Mr. Big is another conversation. Atlantic Records president is mentioned and how the label didn't really love the band, but when 'To Be With You' became a hit, Morris told the public that he always knew the album 'Lean Into It' would be successful. A great example of how label's really weren't impressed by 80's era hard rock bands, even though they made them a lot of money.
Billy is such a gentleman. As a longtime fan, Tyson could not be more excited for the listeners to hear this interview. As the editing took place, the realization was that Tyson felt like that 11 year old kid all over again. There were so many questions that Billy graciously answered with ease. For fans of Billy's work, this is a must listen!
A buddy of Tyson's, Dan Weber, has mentioned that listening to the show always feels like just two buddies just having a conversation. This interview is a perfect example of what Weby was eluding too!
