The San Diego Padres complete the sweep of the Colorado Rockies with a dominant 7-2 win at Petco Park — their 5th straight victory and 9th in their last 11 games.

It was a statement weekend in San Diego.

The Padres exploded offensively all series long, launching multiple home runs and showing a completely different identity at the plate after entering the series with one of the lowest HR totals in baseball.

On Sunday, Ty France led the way with a monster performance, finishing 3-for-3 and a triple shy of the cycle, while Ramon Laureano and Jackson Merrill added clutch home runs.

On the mound, the Padres were nearly untouchable.

Nick Pivetta was dominant early, retiring the first 9 hitters before leaving with elbow stiffness — a major storyline to monitor. From there, the bullpen stepped up in a HUGE way, combining for a 2-hit performance and striking out 12.
