    Curious Matter Presents: Midnight Burger

In this new installment of Curious Matter Presents, we are featuring Midnight Burger Season 1 Episode 6. This hilariously addictive romp through the cosmos has taken the audio fiction world by storm and is currently nominated for BEST FICTION PODCAST in the 2024 Podcast Academy Awards, aka the Ambies! Joe Fisher is on today to tell us a little bit about how this time-traveling dimension-hopping adventure popped into the universe.

A little bit more about Midnight Burger:

When Gloria took a waitressing job at a diner outside of Phoenix, she didn't realize she was now an employee of Midnight Burger, a time-traveling, dimension-spanning diner. Every day Midnight Burger appears somewhere new in the cosmos along with it's staff: a galactic drifter, a rogue theoretical physicist, a sentient old-timey radio, and some guy named Caspar. No one knows who built Midnight Burger or how it works, but when it appears there's always someone around who could really use a cup of coffee. "When the waves of the universe crash unrelentingly, when the stars seem indifferent to your plight, suddenly there is a diner." We open at 6.

Oh no, this time the diner has found itself in a dystopian Earth where the ads are LITERALLY stuck in your head. That's right, it's the worst dystopia of all. No mohawks, no zombies, no improvised weaponry... just more ads.

    Cast:

    Gloria - Siouxsie Suarez

    Caspar - Joe Fisher

    Ava - Finlay Stevenson

    Zebulon Mucklewain - Neal Starbird

    Effie Mucklewain - Julie Cowden-Starbird

    Leif - Tom Moorman

    Guest Starring:

    Benjamin Burdick as Officer Valvoline

    Jessica Morris as Mary

Written and Directed by Joe Fisher

Produced by Joe Fisher and Finlay Stevenson

    Music:

    Insufficient Sweetie - Ukulele Ike

Curious Matter Presents: Ask Your Father

In this new installment of Curious Matter Presents, we are featuring the pilot episode of Ask Your Father from Sean Williams and Gideon Media, the team behind the hit audio-dramas Steal the Stars, Give Me Away, God of Obsidion, and Audible Originals including Witness and Are You Afraid of the Dark. Sean Williams the writer-creator joins Jonathan for a one-on-one interview about the show and the influences that helped bring us this new audio hit.

In Ask Your Father, Lem and Mikey begin the first Faster Than Light Speed trip in the wrong place and without enough fuel to get back. Lem's husband and sister aren't getting any answers from NASA - mostly because they have no answers themselves. Everyone begins to settle in this new strange routine, which includes tiny hard-drives filled with information and audio letters from home.

Featuring Sean Williams, Kevin R. Free (IG - @kevinrfree), Rob Maitner (IG - @bobbiemaits) , Rebecca Comtois, Barnaby Williams and Marlena Williams.

    Director - Jordana Williams

Designer - Jeffrey Nils Gardner (www.audaciousmachinecreative.com)

    Curious Matter Presents: Oz 9

In this Curious Matter Presents we are taking a turn towards the silly and bringing you an episode of Oz-9 as well as a special interview with creator Shannon Perry. Described as Gilligan's Island meets the Office in Space, this series brings all the hijinks, mischief, and mayhem anyone could ask for.

On a random Tuesday in 2142, 400 Oz ships, each carrying a cargo of 50,000 sleeping rich people, were launched from Earth by a corporation called Gated Galaxies. On a mission to seek out, terraform, and probably rudely exploit any planet they stumble upon, the Oz ships were a great way to get rid of not only some very rich idiots, but also their crews of petty thieves and thugs. This is the story of one such ship, the Oz 9, where the pods have already started going dark.
