Chris is a Jacksonville native, and currently serves as a Youth Leader and Worship Band Leader at Baymeadows Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL.
This message was given on June 27th, 2021 at Baymeadows Baptist Church during our Sunday night service. Habakkuk is a prophet that is relatively unknown. When you read Habakkuk, you can see and understand his prayers to God. "God, are you hearing my prayers?" "How long will the evil in our society continue?" "Why is it that it seems evil continues to prosper and the godly continue to suffer?" Any of those questions sound familiar? Ever prayed those prayers? Ever felt that way? Then I encourage you to listen to this message with an open heart and listening ears, and even a pen and paper. I pray this blesses you and you will consider partnering with our ministry by liking, subscribing, and sharing this podcast. I was not scheduled to speak this week, and found out that I would be speaking 2 minutes prior to our service starting. Colossians 3:1-4 was what I had read that day during my devotion time, so that is what I shared that night. Everyone has heard the "The Parable of the Prodigal Son", however I don't believe that is the best title for the parable. I think the main character here and the point is "The Loving Father." This is clearly a picture of how much God loves us, if we are lost in our rebellion or in our religion. He is a good, good, loving Father who loves us first and took the first step to bring us into reconciliation with Himself. I was given the opportunity to preach during our graduation service. This message is for more than high school graduates, this is for all of us as believers and followers of Jesus Christ. We need to be rooted, built up, and established in the Word in order to grow, withstand the storms, and know the real Gospel in the midst of many counterfeits. The point of the message is, "Our life goal: Be rooted, built up, and established in Jesus Christ, our Sovereign Savior." I pray this message is a blessing to you. This is the first of several messages from the book of James and I am excited to start this series. In this introduction we discuss when the book of James was written, who the author is, why it was written, and why we are going to study this book. The overall theme for the series is "Faith produces Actions", and the point of this message is, "If James was able to surrender his life to his brother, what is keeping you from fully surrendering to Jesus Christ?" I pray this is a blessing to you, as well as the remainder of this series. This message is an encouragement to believers to share the good news of the Gospel with a lost society. Jesus reveals Himself to an unnamed Samaritan woman and she immediately goes and tells her entire town about Jesus. She doesn't allow her past, her inexperience, or the labels that society has put on her to keep her from sharing her story and inviting people to Jesus. I pray this is an encouraging message to you to have the desire and confidence to share what Jesus did for you with those in your world. Please consider partnering with the ministry by liking, sharing, subscribing, and giving a review on iTunes. I appreciate your support and your willingness to help me share the Gospel with the world. God bless.
