Covid-19 wants your decision on Education

There has been a lot of talk about what parents are going to choose for their education options. There are 3+ 1. In seat, Hybrid, Virtual or can you Homeschool? What's your decision? With the clock ticking for parents are you comfortable with explanations of how things will run? Is filler work going to be a norm when teachers get sick? Special needs students, paras is their a contingency plan if those staff are sick? K-3 has my highest concern in this experimental phase the schools will be entering. Let's discuss!

Listen to where my thoughts are in the process and where I'm leaning. If you have questions on how to carry out your options email me. Don't forget to check out our facebook page.

Advocate Alert* How to make it happen

You know when you feel bamboozled by a situation...How about a school lunch or school program you'd like started. Only problem is who's going to do it? It seems like no matter where your kids attend school it's always something. In this weeks episode I discuss how those contracted to provide lunches aren't living up to the parents expectations. I also discuss how a mother of a son with Autism could manuver obstacles the schools want to handle but just can't.  We are the ones looking for change, now it is time to make it happen. We wonder about quality, quantity, and why the wheels on the bus aren't going around bu it's time to put your advocate hat on!

    As always thanks for listening!

    Interview: #MiddleSchool

It's time to talk middle school parents. In this episode I speak with an Assistant Principal Jason Dorray of a local school here in Hillsborough county, Florida. How do administrators navigate the tough situations of todays youth? It's awkward, it's middleschool but it's also a crucial stage for the rest of their lives. With all the baggage many kids bring to school each day how can we as parents help? Listen to how we can apply some ideas and principles in our own adult lives.

What questions should you be asking...What should we be paying attention to? What about our kids circle of friends? What are major problems happening in schools and how can parents address them? It's covered here. Mr. Dorray gives us an approach especially from a title 1 school perspective. It's about knowing better to do better.

So join us for another amazing episode of "Real Talk" Education Lanes Podcast.
