Luke Kuechly Opens Up About Why He Walked Away & His Football Obsession + NFL Votes To Ban Tush Push

    Recorded: March 31, 2025

On this episode of Bussin’ With The Boys, Will Compton and Taylor Lewan sit down with Luke Kuechly—NFL legend, Carolina Panthers icon, and one of the greatest linebackers to ever play the game. Known for his elite football IQ and instinctual play, Luke opens up about his early retirement from the NFL due to multiple concussions, giving raw and honest insight into the toll the game can take. As well as his time playing with superstars Cam Newton, and Christian McCaffrey.

Before the interview with Luke, Will and Taylor react to the news from the NFL owners meetings that they will vote on a potential ban of the Tush Push, popularized by the Philadelphia Eagles en route to their Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last season.

The conversation starts with Luke’s early love for football and the moment he knew the sport was his calling. He shares why he chose Boston College, what made it feel like the right fit, and what it was like training at IMG Academy alongside top-tier talent leading up to the NFL Draft. Luke gives a behind-the-scenes look at his NFL Combine experience and the emotions surrounding his draft day with the Carolina Panthers.

From rookie-year adjustments and getting "Mossed" by Julio Jones to a hilarious story about not owning a TV, Luke keeps it real with the boys. He reflects on the veteran linebackers who mentored him and how they shaped his mental and physical approach to the game. Luke and Will also break down some of his most iconic plays in the NFL, offering a deep dive into how he could seemingly read quarterbacks' minds and always be one step ahead.

Big hugs and some tiny lil kisses!

Pardon My Take x Bussin' With The Boys + Big Cat & PFT Send The Boys Off In Style + Super Bowl LIX

Recorded: February 3rd, 2024 The Pardon My Take squad, Big Cat and PFT Commenter join Will Compton and Taylor Lewan for an all-time crossover. They kick things off by recalling last year’s audio mishaps before diving into the resurrection of Vanny Woodhead. Big Cat cautions everyone to watch out for Sherm and then explains his regret for not buying a Chevy for Jack. The conversation then turns to Nebraska and Dylan Raiola's weight. The tension ramps up as Big Cat and PFT clash over their loyalties to Washington and Chicago, setting the stage for a heated discussion on whether PFT is nervous about Jaden Daniels going the route of RG3. The group reminisces about being featured on Hard Knocks and breaks down how Bussin's new deal changes things moving forward. Will and Taylor are then challenged by the PMT Boys to name 10 NBA players. PFT then rewinds to the early days of PMT, discussing how it all started before their podcast's ultimate rise to chart topping success. The conversation takes a deeper turn as they reflect on whether PMT would ever call it quits and what they see as their peak. The future of the Will Compton museum is finally settled, followed by some gruesome injury stories and a discussion about any lingering friction between the PMT crew and Bussin'. Make sure to like and subscribe and comment below your favorite bit that Bussin' stole from PMT. Big Hugs and the tinniest of kisses! Brian Baldinger Dishes Legendary NFL Tales + Can the Chiefs Cement a Historic Three-Peat?

Recorded: January 27, 2024 Brian Baldinger aka Baldy, former NFL player turned analyst, shares incredible stories from his playing days in the 80's and 90's. Will Compton and Taylor Lewan delve into Baldy's time coaching in Italy, and ask him about some wild tales from his rookie season, and the grueling training camp practices of his era. Baldy tells The Boys about his days of playing on an unsanctioned NFL basketball team that traveled the state of Texas. To then reflecting on the coaching styles he experienced, comparing legends like Jimmie Johnson and Tom Landry, while also delving into how injury rates and player preparation have changed over the years. The Boys touch on Baldy’s “OL Mastermind” expertise and ask why he isn’t coaching today, while he showcases his passion for breaking down film and teaching the game. They wrap up by discussing the best players he’s played with, coaching changes around the league, and Super Bowl predictions, ending with the fan-favorite "Twisted Question of the Week" and "Pet Peeve of the Week." It’s a must-listen for football fans craving a mix of nostalgia, analysis, and fun banter. In the intro Will is given a punishment by the boys un the back of the bus if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl. Will and Taylor then recap their weekend, and the bus attempts to bully Taylor into having a 3rd kid. To wrap it all up, Taylor and Will answer some fan questions from last week about the move from Barstool Sports and what that means for fans. Big Hugs and Tiny Kisses y'all!
