- 30 minutes29: What Works vs. What Doesn't in Fitness
Hey guys! In this episode, I discuss three areas where I see a lot of people making mistakes in their fitness journeys. I've been there, done that with each of these topics too, so I'm here to share some wisdom with you:
1) Forever being on some kind of diet and then bingeing off of it
2) Not paying attention to overall caloric intake
3) Putting yourself in a box with how you train

14 September 2020, 12:09 am - 21 minutes 56 seconds28: Stop Being Fake
In this episode, I discuss the topic of showing up as your real self, particularly in your online and social media life. I go over why as humans we tend to:
-edit pictures to show only the best of our lives
-write captions that catch attention rather than inform or educate
-share articles on social media that could be untrue just to inflame opinions from the other side of the political spectrum
-get anxiety when we spend too much time online and WHY that really is
And I talk about why I see this all as wrong. I truly believe that if we could show up as our real selves online and start treating each other with respect, the world and this country could go so much further. The online space isn't going away anytime soon, so we need to learn how to properly treat each other and share our lives with the world so that we can keep moving forwards as a nation.

-I probably don’t train the way you think I do

6 July 2020, 12:48 am - 37 minutes 24 seconds24: Becoming the Human You Want to Be
This is some deep stuff so it’s important that we talk about multiple different aspects of this. Here are the areas I dive into today:
-Establishing your personal morals. Where do they come from? Do they shift based on who you are around? Are they rock solid when you’re under pressure? Do they come from your own beliefs or your parents’?
-Creating your looks. What can you control? Your look is a part of you and gives others the idea of what kind of person you are overall by a first impression.
-Relationships, both platonic and romantic: what are your standards? What do you believe in within a romantic relationship? Do you tell your friends everything about you? Why or why not?
These are just three areas of life, but I feel like they encompass a lot. If you want another podcast on this topic but focusing on different sub-areas, let me know!

The questions I answered on today's episode are:
-What are you doing to keep occupied? (during the pandemic)
-Clean bulking and dense meal prep (how to properly do both)
-People keeping their cool during the pandemic (lol, I gave my brief opinion on this)
-What are your fitness goals? (so I shared several things that I have in mind when working out, eating healthy, and keeping myself well overall)

29 March 2020, 10:46 pm - 43 minutes 14 seconds21: Pros and Cons of Hiring a Trainer/Fitness Coach
Pros:
- You will learn.
- You will be pushed when you need it.
- You will likely get out of your normal way of doing things and find new ways that you might like better.
- You have accountability.
- You are required to literally show up.
- You invested yourself financially, and therefore you are more likely to follow through with the plan.
- You save time you would spend yourself on planning your training and nutrition (depending on the coach).
- You don’t have to think. You just show up and perform what your coach asks.
- Your coach most likely knows a lot more than you.
- Online coaches can do a good amount more for you than in person CPTs.
Cons:
- You have to pay for it.
- Your coach won’t know right away what plan is best for you and your body.
- You might get a “bad” coach.
- You might pay money but it doesn’t guarantee results.
- You won’t get instant results. Expect to have a coach for a long time—I’d say plan for a year at minimum.
- You might not get a coach that teaches you. They might just tell you what to do without explaining why.
- In-gym personal trainers cost way too much money, and most of that money doesn’t even go to the trainer.
- In-gym CPTs are supervised and make sure that you continually keep paying for programs.
- On the flip side, online coaches oftentimes keep trying to make you come back to them for everything. They try to make you dependent on them by saying things like “everyone needs a coach.” That’s false. Not everyone needs a coach.
- Coaches not “graduating” their clients to the real world.
