No one cared abut Big Daddy Kane VS KRS except Mike, who starts off describing what he enjoyed about the recent Verzuz between the 2 legendary MC's. Joe lets us know about some more cringe-rap thats dropped, as well as some other new songs that came out. We also talk about the appeal of getting rid of laptops while djing, and share some technology nightmares. This was a quick episode we know, but we really just didn't want you to miss us too long.

ARD 40: Puff Puff Pass with DJ BONICS!
Are we back or what?!! 3 weeks, 3 episodes! This week we have our first guest since being back from hiatus, Philly and Pittsburgh's own party Rocker, Radio vet, and tour DJ fir Wiz Khalifa.....DJ BONICS! We start off talking shop about clubs, request stories, twitch life, vinyl life, and the working class DJ perspective we all have. Bonics tells us how he got started as a DJ, and how he linked up with Wiz Khalifa. He shares some stories, including getting stuck overseas when COVID first hit, as well as, some of the difficulties one may face being a stoner in certain countries. We talk about the impact Wiz had on lots of todays rappers both aesthetically and sonically. Then the convo gets very "hits blunt" as we go on about social media, the news, and its alarming impact on ourselves and society. We end with Bonics talking about his new opportunities in Vegas in the marijuana industry, and his current fundraiser to help fight homelessness. You can contribute here by hitting the link in his IG bio @djbonics

Ep. 36 - Mike's Really Hype Off Water
For some random reason we start off talking about our favorite songs that we found out about via memes! Mike and Jabair talk about some recent gigs, while Mike updates us on what's been hitting and what's been flopping ,and how tik tok has made Jersey Club easier to play in the club. Then, Mike and Joe start reminiscing on the days as employees at Armand's records and Doc B's influence on record buying. As usual we all run down some new music that we're feeling, including Mike's surrender to emo pop rap. We go over some mid 2000's dancehall classics and wish they were still being made and Mike asks the listeners to help him figure out what riddim the new Ape Drums track reminds me of. We listen to some new UK drill, paticularly from Ivorian Doll and Jabair put us up on some new vibey stuff from DJ moma and others. We wrap it up with some tech talk and how the Cosby show was our first intro to sampling technology.

Ep 35- We're like the wind
We're back with more tales from the deejayshpere, starting off with a random discussion of Eminem's early work. Mike talks about his recent Djing experiences and what's been working and what's been flopping. Inspired by Vin Deisel's new song, we explore the rich hisrory of celebrities making music and share some of our "favorites". We have a lot of new music from both the hip hop and dance music worlds. Joe puts us all on new international drill from places you's least expect. And we wrap up talking about the latest Sault project. Another welcome break from the anxiety that is 2020!

Ep 34: A pleasantly irrelevant episode
Lets face it, it's impossible to keep up with alll the shit that goes on everyday in this hellscape of a year, so forgive us if these arent't the most pressing topics, but hey, maybe a little break from the chaos is needed. We start off with my Mike's triumphant return to DJing for people, the adjustments we're all making, and finally getting to see what songs are working for people and what songs didn't do that much. We fantasize about rolling into a club with a Travis Scott burger, while Mike explores his dancefloor body dysmorphia. Theres some brief discussion about The RBG acronyms other than Ruth Bader Ginsberg, reminiscing on Kony2012, and wondering how real is PS5 prostitution? We stumble upon a new microgenre that has been with us all along while going throught new hits, then end up reviewing the fallout of TIk Tok "bans" and some of the latest "bangers" that have emerged from a platform in which we all agree the world could do without.

ARD EP 33: (WAP) What A Podcast!!!
We start off light this week with some feel good smilers of years past before we deal with the full gravity and realization that this year blows so hard, get "all political" , and talk about how we someties need to take a break from the insanity that is the internet. We talk briefly about Qanon, the DJ's it has inspired, and the appeal of conspiracy theories in hip hop. All this serious talk does not stop me from playing another ridiculous mash up and talking about funny pranks that can be played with song titles. Ww dip briefly into some new songs and then debate the relevance of the XXL's Freshman class.

Episode 25: Future Beats with our very own, Jabair
In this weeks episode we talk with ARD's very own Jabair about the wide range of sounds that fall under the umbrella of "Future beats"! We talk about the movement, the bangers, and its key players as we try our best to define this vibe. We metion the quandry one is put in when a hot girl requests Russ, other rappers that have huge fanbases that we can't listen to, how much we love Young M.A., Elon Musk the producer, and we run through a bunch of new tunes. Also, DJ Major Taylor aka Ralph calls in for no good reason.

Blame It on My Deuce - New club bangers breakdown
Remember how our last episode was this highly informative documentaion of a musical genre that impacted our DJ lives and we then delved into the history of club music in a somehwat of an academic sense? This episode is definitely not like that! In this slightly dated, yet highly "entertaining" edition of the ARD podcast, we run down some "current" events involving Art Basel (basil, bazel), Lizzo's twerking incident, and changing of the lyrics to "Juice" to make it a "cautionary tale", as well as other internet stuff that captured our hearts and minds. We mostly review a lot of new hot and not so hot club bangers that are out now and have a lot of fun doing it.

Major Taylor returns! and talks just as much as last time!
Our boy Ralph Darden aka Major Taylor is back for another fake-patois-filled episode of ARD. We talk about House of Vans, Ralph's residencies in Chicago and the complexities of spinning to a very diverse crowd. We sidebar into conversation topics that everyone hates, including dreams (and nightmares). We also talk about the pros and cons of using USB sticks vs good ole' serato, our listening habits as djs and then we put each other onto all kinds of new bangers!
