RunPod

Global

Welcome to RunPod, the weekly run club you can join simply by listening. In this series Jenni Falconer welcomes special guests who share that passion for running. Together they’ll discuss the challenge, reward and sometimes obsession of pounding the pavement whilst asking what drives us to run, why some catch the bug more than others, and how it can transform the lives of those who do it. Along the way, you'll hear top training tips, monumental mistakes and some inspirational stories. So, whether you’re a seasoned marathoner, treadmill trainer, fitness guru or simply putting off that Sunday jog, RunPod is here for you.

The Power Playlist! with Ioana Barbu

Ever wondered what fuels someone through 230km of frozen Arctic wilderness – and still leaves them winning? ❄️🏃‍♀️

This week, we’re plugging into the Power Playlist of ultra-runner legend Ioana Barbu, who just smashed the Arctic Ice Ultra – first woman across the line, second overall (!!), and still going strong with six ultras lined up this year.

Ioana swears by Kris King’s Running Playlist and podcast – she’s a proud member of the Beyond The Ultimate Crew, and she’s not risking a dead battery mid-run, so yes, it’s wire headphones only in sub-zero temps.

From pounding icy trails with Kris in her ears to vibing with Classic FM and Smooth Radio when the weather matches the tarmac, Ioana’s 'Global Radio' roots and epic endurance are giving us serious motivation.
