The government in the area has used a grid system with plenty of trail markers and cell towers to prevent people from getting lost. If they do they can use the grid system to tell authorities which will lead to a timely recovery. However with all of these systems in place people still seem to vanish and have weird things happen to them. It seems like another hot spot for the missing 411 phenomenon. If you build a shrine and give offerings you can use those same offerings to make some food for people to help them with misfortune. Which is a bizarre thought, thinking how often these things may happen in the real world without people knowing. The book also covers things that we refuse to cover, like the rite of chains which is a ritual that will bind you to Saturn forever.
