This podcast covers topics in neuroscience, health and performance with the Carrick Institute
In this episode, we speak with Kevin Maher, the inventor of the GyroStim. In the evolving field of neuro-rehabilitation, GyroStim has emerged as a one-of-a-kind, groundbreaking solution for individuals suffering from vestibular dysfunction. This advanced rotational chair therapy system is reshaping the future of vestibular rehabilitation, offering precise, repeatable, and dynamic stimulation that promotes neuroplasticity and accelerates recovery. What began as one father's quest to help his daughter has now become a globally recognized innovation with FDA approval and Breakthrough Device Designation.
Dr. Jalili shares insights on brain health and the development of CereFLEX AM/PM, a Health-Canada-approved supplement designed to support cognitive function and memory. After more than 11 years of research and formulation, this neuro-metabolically focused approach combines antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and herbal remedies to aid those experiencing post-concussive challenges. In this episode of Talk Neuro to Me, we release from the Carrick Institute vault Prof. Carrick’s discussion on the Fastigial Nucleus and trunk position. Prof. Carrick describes the dominance of trunk position over head position in vestibular processing of the cerebellum.
Humankind must be able to activate different groups of muscles even with the same head position and vestibular activation. Trunk proprioceptors have vestibular targets in the Fastigial nucleus and promote this functionality that allows us to support posture and locomotion.
