The Memphis Grizzlies shocked the NBA by firing Grizz head coach (and former Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach) Taylor Jenkins on Friday, so Ti Windisch opened this bonus Gyro Step episode with some thoughts on why despite liking Jenkins as a coach the Bucks should NOT hire him or anybody else mid-season, or before getting a true organizational plan in place that they’ve lacked post Mike Budenholzer.

The Milwaukee Bucks lost 108-106 to the Phoenix Suns for a lot of reasons, but one of them was definitely late game execution. That’s where Ti Windisch started in this solo Gyro Step episode, with his disappointment in the Bucks not being on the same page yet again in a big-time moment. 

Other topics include the injury report, with a foreboding update on Damian Lillard’s status plus Milwaukee being short on bigs for most of the rest of the way, as well as a look at the current rotation and what is not working. The spacing with the starters is a struggle between Kyle Kuzma and Brook Lopez, and AJ Green’s ongoing slump isn’t helping matters much. The Milwaukee Bucks got a win in their most important game of this end of season slog, defeating the Indiana Pacers at home to secure the tiebreaker vs Indiana and get themselves some breathing room in the standings to hold onto the fourth seed. But the very next night a short-handed Oklahoma City Thunder team came into Fiserv Forum and showed Milwaukee they’re not at the level of the top NBA contenders with a firm road win.
