I got the opportunity to spend quality time with the black women in my family to learn who they are as individuals. In that time, I discovered how all of our experiences mirrored each other. I began to think about the impact of the black matriarch and how it greatly influences how black men/women interact. Their influence helped to shape our ideas and how we move in society.

Although we are almost post pandemic, the time we spent quarantined gave us time to reflect on the highs & lows while in isolation. We had a lot of downtime and you know what they say, "an idle mind is the devil's playground."

If you are completely honest with yourself, would you date yourself or would you ghost yourself?

It is a day of reckoning. Much like the feminism movement when white women burn bras in protest of patriarchy, black women are burning our capes. We are no longer saving the black man. It's time we only support those who keep that same energy for black women.
