The Bible tells parents to train their children, so you know we take that seriously here at Family Teams.
But did you know there's a different between training your children and disciplining them?
Discipline is part of the training process, but it's certainly not the whole thing.
Learn the systems we use to train our kids to do everything from:
- Cleaning up around the house before dinner,
- Listen immediately and cheerfully
- Quietly put themselves to bed
- Cook meals
- Clean up after meals
...and much, much more!
On this episode, we talk about:
0:00 Intro
1:03 System vs philosophy
3:37 3 reasons why you need a framework
5:46 What should your training system look like?
14:02 How to get your kids to clean the house every day
16:49 Organic vs. systems thinking

Training your children is a Biblical mandate.
But it's almost become a dirty word in 2026.
"How dare you train your children! You're infringing on their liberty as individuals!"
But this is part of God's expectation for parents - to raise them up in the way they should go. And that requires training.
In this episode, we'll convince you briefly why training your kids is necessary (if you still need convincing), and then give you some practical tools and mindset shifts to start actually implementing this.
Hit play and get decades of parenting experience in under 20 minutes.
On this episode, we talk about:
0:00 Intro
0:46 When Did Parenting Shift?
4:09 How Should Parents Think About Training Their Kids?
8:38 Reasons Why People Don't Train

A few weeks ago, we posted a clip on Instagram of Jeremy reacting to a woman's explanation of her dad's unique discipline (which also included an incredible teaching on grace). It went pretty viral, being seen over half a million times on IG.
Today, we're excited to bring it full circle by having Rachel Awtrey - the woman in the reel - on the podcast, to talk more about her father's wise discipline, fathering and mothering in general, and about her new book on finding joy, even in times of hardship and trial, to which she's no stranger.
Listen in to hear why her dad's unique discipline actually worked, and how it's helped her in her own motherhood journey.
On this episode, we talk about:
0:00 Intro
0:41 Rachel's family background
3:4 The identity of "daughter"
5:54 Creativity in discipline
15:44 Discipline must be correlated to the level of connection

This month we're talking about how to start having weekly, multi-generational family meals, because we are convinced that this is one of the most practical ways to turn your family into a multi-generational team on mission.
Our goal is to have our kids want to be around this table every week now, while they're in our house, but also for decades after they have their own families.
So, this week, we're talking about sustainability...
How do you actually establish a tradition like this that you KEEP week after week, even when things are hard, and you're not 100% sure what you're doing?
Out goal today is to help you find a bit of an easy button that you can press, even on a hard week, because a regular cadence and rhythm is the thing that will eventually turn this into a sustainable, long-term rhythm that changes your family forever.
On this episode, we talk about:
0:00 Intro
1:06 Sustainable weekly family meals for decades
4:45 Easy and Wow
6:31 Mom's perspective

If you decide to craft a weekly, multi-generational family meal, and stick with it every week, we're convinced that this is THE thing that will unlock a close, cohesive, loving family that lasts for generations.
BUT...
And it's a big but...
If it's not fun, nobody's going to want to do it.
You can only force little kids to join you at the table for so long until they're big enough to decide for themselves. Ideally we want our kids to come back to the weekly family dinner table when they're 10, 20, 30, 40, 50...you get the idea.
So in this episode, we're talking about how to unlock the FUN of the weekly family meal (especially for dads).
Dive in and lay the foundation so you can get the most out of this month's weekly family meal deep-dives!
On this episode, we talk about:
0:00 Intro
0:52 The ONE tool that will turn your family into a multi-generational family
2:47 Why fun matters
5:00 The risk of missing fun
10:05 Fun killers

There's an unhinged consensus that patriarchy is a problem, it's bad, and it needs to be dismantled.
That's one of the core tenets of the new, secular world order and "morality".
It's totally false, but it's been spurred onward over the past 100 years by feminism, which has also become a consensus.
We're so steeped in it that seemingly everyone has assumed feminist tendencies and beliefs, just due to the waters in which we swim, culturally.
Jeremy is joined by Dr. Carrie Gress today to talk about feminism, gender, abortion, and why all of this is a slow but steady under-the-radar revolution in an attempt to destroy America and Christianity.
This conversation is VITAL to understand if you don't want to be polluted by the world.
On this episode, we talk about:
0:00 Intro
1:28 Something Wicked and End of Woman
5:06 This is NOT what feminism means
8:48 Should you want your daughters to be empowered and independent? (clip?)
12:46 Freedom as license vs to do what you ought (clip?)
20:59 Does this require theology?
26:33 Birth control (catholic birth control clip)
33:00 Abortion as a Feminist sacrament

You've probably heard about this phrase, "DINK Lifestyle"...it stands for "Dual Income, No Kids".
This is a lifestyle that some couples are choosing to live, whereby they prioritize work and income and doing whatever they want, without the "burden" of kids.
This is a selfish, anti-family, and very sad way to live, and it's vital that we put forward a more compelling vision for the future so that we save as many people as possible from going down this path of regret.
Jeremy is joined by Robert Bortins, CEO of Classical Conversations, to talk about the SILK lifestyle..."Single Income, Lots of Kids".
We talk about why DINK is so destructive, the underlying philosophy behind it, and how to create a real vision for flourishing.
On this episode, we talk about:
0:00 Intro
1:08 DINK vs SILK
3:59 Promotion of certain lifestyles
9:37 What's wrong with celebrating DINK?

This is the tool you need to be using as often as possible to win the hearts of your kids.
And don't worry about it being this huge chore you need to somehow fit into your schedule...
This can be done mostly doing the same things you already do, with a bit of extra intentionality and connection.
We're talking about having 1 on 1s with your kids (and even having the kids do 1 on 1s with each other!).
If you do these regularly, you'll always know where your children's hearts are at, and be able to speak life and love into them.
On this episode, we talk about:

1:17 The 1 tool to use so no kids fall through the cracks
2:15 1:1s without adding more calendar chaos
