On this episode, Sergio Picazo, CEO of CLTVTD Genetics / SMLZ, is joined by Joe Cimino, founder & cultivator, Good Greens. Hosts Tyreece & Alex discussed consumer education around "fire & gas" flower in the recreational cannabis market in California. Respectfully, the status quo is challenged with a lack of awareness due to the consumer not knowing the difference of what constitutes quality flower at a top shelf experience. There is ignorance at this immature state of the industry because the consumer is unaware of when a recognizable brand decides to package up a less than perfect run. Tyreece and Alex were able to visit Joe's indoor cultivation operation based in Downtown Los Angeles prior to this episode being recorded. Joe is a top tier cultivator who has the ability to drive the genetic potential through his high level of understanding using data analytics (crop steering) using the Aroya cultivation software + Teros 12 sensor by Meter Group. The curation passion project, SMLZ by CLTVTD, is our ability to showcase the genetics that were grown by cultivation partners in a co-branded supply chain awareness effort for the consumer to know where that flower came from. The goal is to showcase quality flower in small bud form at an affordable 1/2 oz price which came from a quality batch recognized by both the cultivator and nursery. The Terpene Education Chart specific to that cultivar explains the dominant 3 terpenes which can help the consumer understand what type of experience to expect from that cultivar.Â
Sergio is welcomed back to Terp Talks with Sarah Tokes (@TerpQueen_) to discuss some exciting topics with CLTVTD. The #SMLZ 1/2 oz flower packs, powered by CLTVTD, is a way to ensure the supply chain is getting recognized on the package. Breeder > Nursery > Cultivator is the way to focus on the consumer recognizing where their flower came from for a repeatable experience. Terpenes and education around the entourage effect also were touched on to help explain why the THC potency percentage shouldn't be your main buying decision. With Clubhouse being a new social experience platform, there are some important considerations when tuning into a room. Tune in to learn more!
Sergio Picazo, CEO of CLTVTD Genetics visits with Sarah Tokes (@TerpQueen_ , cannabis show host of Terp Talks at Haze Radio Network. Listen to the startup journey of how Sergio came into the cannabis industry and teamed up with his co-founders to build the CLTVTD Genetics familia that is quickly showcasing how they are contributing towards setting the cannabis nursery standards.Â
Crop Steering in Cannabis has become the discussion which many commercial & home growers are raving about. Sure, crop steering has been around for a while with traditional agriculture, but the simplified solution that Aroya has provided through the masterminds of Josh Nuelinger & Ramsey Nubani is showcasing how cultivators can truly unleash the most potential of their cultivars. This discussion with California Cannabis Operators includes real-world context lead by the Slab God himself, Josh Nuelinger, who invited Sergio Picazo (CLTVTD Genetics) to discuss what his experience as a nursery through seeing multiple commercial operators who are running their genetics perform before using crop steering and how the significant impact of results not only in yield & production quality has improved. Lance Guyan (Craft Farmer) and Joe Cimino (Good Greens) instantly were two of Sergio's recommendations to discuss their experience due to the success they've had with their operations. Â Josh explains how "vegetative & generative" cues allow for proper dry-backs and how to modify the EC with proper PPFD at each stage of the plant's lifecycle. Â The amount of knowledge dropped o n this discussion is intended on leveling each and every cultivator up to improve their operation, no matter how big or small their garden is.
