New podcast weblog
This week we look at NASA's mind blowing plans to return to the moon by 2024 and how they plan to stay there. Also we discuss the news that Huawei can no longer use Google's Android OS and what that means for the Chinese tech giant.Â
**Sorry it's Late**
In the first of 2 episodes this week, we look at the fears people have over 5G internet which is being rolled out around the world. As well as that we look at some interesting technology myths from over the years.
All of this and more, this week on Genius Hack!!!
This episode is exactly what the title suggests! The Science of Superheros!
In this episode we look at some comic book favorites and figure out if their set of abilities or how they got them in the first place are at all possible, regardless of how unlikely it may be.Â
So it would seem that Nintendo beat Google to the punch when it comes to streaming games back in the 90s.....well kind of anyway.Â
Also, it's hard to believe that the Gameboy has turned 30! We both feel so old!!
All of that and more on this weeks Genius HackÂ
So we missed a week of the show and they only went and photographed a Black hole!! Yeah we have great timing!
We are also sorry that the first half of the show we sound a bit off. We were struggling with the unexpected heat in the studio, but we get used to it eventually.
So enjoy listening to us trying to talk about science while also baking in the heat at the same time. We clearly aren't above suffering for your entertainment!Â
This week we speak to Vicky Twomey-Lee from Dublin Maker about their open call for applications. After that we look at the prediction people made about the future, some of which were unbelievably wrong, while others were absolutely spot on.Â
As the title suggests, the internet is about to change massively, for those of us in Europe at the very least.Â
But don't worry. This episode isn't all doom and gloom and we look at some odd stories including a pair of holograms going on tour....yeah it's as odd as it seems.
So sit back, relax and welcome back to Genius Hack!
Last week (Just after our last episode came out of course) Google made a major announcement about their attempt to enter the gaming market and launch a brand new game streaming service, Stadia.
This inspired us to talk about the pros, cons and prevalence of streaming media in 2019 and of course take a look at what Google has in store for us.Â
It seems like something straight out of a Sci-Fi movie, but the day when robots and AIs take over some of the jobs done by humans might be closer than you think. We look into this somewhat scary vision of the future as well as some of the more interesting News stories that we've come across on this weeks Genius Hack.Â
Yes as our amazingly over dramatic title suggests, this week we look at the spreading of bacteria and viruses, which leads to a discussion on how we could some day end up going extinct......Yeah sorry to be a bit of a downer.Â
So sit back and (try to) relax as we explore these fascinating and pretty scary topics.
WE'RE BAAACCK!!
It's the first episode of season 2, and partially inspired by the new(ish) film Alita and also from our own conversations from season 1, we are looking at the innovations in the world of prosthetic limbs and even things like bionic organs. Â
So you're very welcome back to Genius Hack, and it starts now!!Â
