Episode 283: Erin Wood v. Mr. Clean

Erin Wood (comedian) joins the show to tell us about getting banned from the Facebook group of Mr. Clean...for telling "him" about a dream she had? Involving him? Shirtless? It's a good time. And so is the episode, as we discuss our word games habit, John doing the new lamest thing he's ever done, our teenage party experiences, cartoons, and Erin takes umbrage with something Stefan and John enjoy. Plus, Erin deleted all her social media, Stefan shows us some rejected vanity license plates, and John introduces Stefan and Erin to scenic pisses.

If you don't want to piss us off, you can donate to the show at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every month! Last week, Gianmarco Soresi rejoined the show to watch some horrible Cameos with us, and we discovered our new favorite guy on Cameo: UFC fighter Nick Diaz. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and more, so check it out!

Erin Wood is a comedian who does not have social media, but if you live in Calgary, you can go to her weekly open mic Ratboy (it's great! Maybe you'll see John!), which is at Vern's Pub every Wednesday at 8:30 pm.

Episode 282: Adam Christie v. Becca

Adam Christie (comedian) returns to the show for his first main episode in over 4 years! Part of the reason he hadn't returned to the show is because no one had blocked him. But then Becca volunteers...and hilarity ensues. Hilarity also ensues the entire episode as Stefan shows us an insane picture (what else is new?), Adam attends an eclipse party, Mr. Beast has a new chocolate bar, and we go long on micropenises. Plus, Keith Lee visits Toronto, a Zoom presentation goes wildly wrong, and Elon Musk goes to court, though he isn't exactly sure who sued him.

If you want to avoid being sued by us, you can donate to the show at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Bobby Warrener joined the show for a delightful mailbag episode, and this week, it's the return of "Word Up!", our Cameo-based bonus series we have now returned to doing bi-monthly, where we find the absolute worst in celebrity shout-outs. We also have ad-free episodes if you hate the damn ads, a massive back catalogue, a Discord, and more!

Adam Christie is a comedian who will be on tour with Randy Feltface this fall, and has lots of fun dates coming up before that as well. You can find out everything you need to know on his Instagram at @adamchristiecomedian.

Episode 281: Donovan Eyre v. John McAfee

Yes, that John McAfee. Donovan Eyre (Radio-Free Tote Bag) joins the show to tell us about weirdly getting the late John McAfee on their podcast (before he died, obv), getting the follow, and then getting unfollowed after his passing. It's a strange sequence of events, and we break it all down here. We also break down CBD seltzers, the A&W Burger Family, Hawkins Cheezies, and Stefan and John make a horrible pitch: Canada Juice II. Plus, Dono's algorithm is full of dead fish, the Cybertruck gets compared to a prom dress (?) in a very strange tweet, and we find out just how stupid parents are over on r/teachers.

If you want to support this show's own r/teacher, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every single month! We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and I guess we might do Canada Juice II? Who knows.

Donovan Eyre is a podcaster whose show, Radio-Free Tote Bag, is available wherever you get your pods. You can follow them on Instagram at @rftb.dono.

Episode 280: Will Sennett & Helena v. Matt Rife

It's another classic pairs episode on Blocked Party, as we just couldn't resist having the two hosts of the new hit podcast 197424 on, Will Sennett and Helena! Helena catches a block from America's favorite comedian, and we dive into his truly cringeworthy Twitter page in this memorable episode. Off the top, we immediately discuss their strange new podcast name and then Stefan pesters the two of them with more parody songs (which costs John and the show more money). We also chat about a confusing Long Island Iced Tea that Helena drank at the movies, John seeing some baffling anti-mayor signs, and we learn Dan has every Amiibo ever made. Plus, pretend psychologists on Instagram, alpha male camps, Dragon's Dogma II, and Ilia Malinin lands a quadruple axel.

If you want to feel as good as a figure skater landing the hardest jump known to man, you can donate to the show at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Raptors and Jays analyst Blake Murphy joined us to discuss his career as a sports journalist and working your way into a difficult profession, and it was a real blast. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and exclusive Discord, and much more!

Together, Will and Helena host the 197424 podcast, which is available wherever you get your pods. Will is also a standup comedian, and you can find his dates and everything else on his Instagram at @will_sennett. Helena is on Instagram as well, at @bugsizechihuahua.

    Episode 279: Becca v. A Broken Man

Becca rejoins the show for the first time since we moved to Calgary, and tells us about some very strange DMs she got about her ex that were connected to a profile that had some very weird posts about her ex. It no longer exists, but is one of the weirder blocks we've ever seen on the show. The episode gets weird too, as we reminisce on our old apartment and talk toilet seats, new video games, cycling in the snow, and chess. In the social media updates, Becca brings back a very popular segment in the show's history: unearthing old social media posts of John's for the listener's enjoyment (and his embarrassment). This time, she goes to Facebook, and there are some doozies. And finally, Stefan finds a weird Bandy video and John watches a guy sprain his ankle.

You know what's better than spraining your ankle? Becoming a donor to the show! For just $5/month, you'll get access to THREE bonus episodes every month over at patreon.com/blockedparty. Last week, Lance St. Laurent returned to discuss the Avro Arrow, and this week, our friend and sports analyst Blake Murphy joins us for a Heck/Cullen episode where we get the lowdown on how to get into covering sports professionally. We also have tiers with ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and a whole lot more! So check it out!

    Episode 278: Austin Lonneberg v. A Redditor

Austin Lonneberg (comedian) joins the show for the first time to tell us about a time he had to block a Redditor after the Reddit guy made fun of Austin's comedy and then when Austin went to check out his profile, he revealed...well, he took us to a very interesting sub-Reddit. We learned a lot. And that's not the only thing we learned a lot about on this episode, as Austin tells us about going to the gym late at night and this somehow leads to us diving WAY too deep into Steven Seagal's history, from his legendarily bad SNL performance to his horrendous recent movies. It's a wild rabbithole. Plus, Austin gets fooled on TikTok into watching Andrew Tate clips, Stefan checks in on Darren Rovell, and John sparks some funny text messages after Drake goes viral for a strange DM slide.

If you want to slide into our DMs (sort of), you can head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Jacob Samuel joined us for one of the truly stupidest mailbags of all-time, where we spend 20 minutes answering a question in the dumbest way possible. This week, it's the return of the Canadian Education Programme as Lance St. Laurent returns to watch a beloved Canadian miniseries with us. We also have ad-free episodes and a whole lot more, so check it out!

Austin Lonneberg is a comedian and you can follow him on social media for clips and tour dates at @austinlonneberg.

Episode 277: Luke Taylor v. Mr. Peanut

Luke Taylor (comedian) joins the show for the first time to give us his first-hand experience of what it feels like to be the main character of Twitter for a day, after his run-ins with Mr. Peanut online turn into a Vice article, some attention from Bhad Bhabie, and a whole lot of people angry at him. But we could never stay mad at Luke, as he tries his best to be a great guest despite not receiving the John email. And he succeeds, as we discuss English accents, inflatable Michael Jacksons, the "Blanket" incident, and Balloon Boy. Plus, Luke lets us know that the best social media right now is Facebook Stories, Elon Musk writes a tweet about "Woke Jeopardy!" that's as good as you think it is, and Joey reviews the new KFC Chizza.

If you want something that'll certainly go down a lot easier than a Chizza, how about the entire Blocked Party bonus episode back catalogue? It totals over 150 episodes, and you get access to it immediately if you support the Blocked Boys at patreon.com/blockedparty. Just $5/month for that AND three new bonus episodes every damn month. Plus, we have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and lots of other fun stuff. So support the show and your podcasting habit today!

Episode 276: Lane Moore v. Facebook Marketplace

We are back to our regularly scheduled program after Freaky February, and who better to join us than Lane Moore (author, podcaster) to discuss how she is at odds with--but also in love with--Facebook's online marketplace. There's no contention on the rest of the episode though, as we discuss podcast theme songs, the downfall of Twitter and now TikTok, Stefan's new gaming laptop, and how almost every online parody song is about COVID. Plus, girlbossing your way through mental health, Trapt gets denied by a venue, and Stefan walks us through the terrifying "Willy Wonka Experience".

If you want to live in a world of pure imagination, you can head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty and donate to our show! $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, it was the amazing conclusion of our BPD&D Season 3 with Jesse and db from YKS, and this week, Jacob Samuel returns to the show for an in-person mailbag. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and much more, so check it out today!

Episode 275: John and Stefan's Fast Track

It's the final episode of Freaky February and it's time to take the ultimate challenge: an episode of Howell Dawdy's Fast Track, where we have to write a song in 30 minutes or less. Now, we aren't the musical genius that Howell is, so we decided to write a parody song instead of an actual, "we play the instruments" song, but look...we aren't very good at that either. After canvassing people to find out what the most annoying song at karaoke is, we settled on a parody of "Sweet Caroline", a song we both hate, and of course...we make it about needing to poop really bad.

If you have an urge to do something else, why not head on over to our Patreon and support the Blocked Boys doing what they love? It's just $5/month at patreon.com/blockedparty for THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Ivan Decker joined us for the triumphant return of "Word Up!", our Cameo-themed bonus episodes, and this week, it's the thrilling conclusion of Blocked Party D&D: Season 3, with our good friends Mike and Jesse from Your Kickstarter Sucks. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and more, so check it out!

Episode 274: Dudes w/ Tony Boswell

It's Freaky February and we continue on with an episode of "Dudes", a send-off on our good friend Bryan's podcast "Guys", which is about, well, guys. This week, we have Tony Boswell (Minion Death Cult) joining us to discuss a Dude near and dear to our hearts: the Nu-Metal Dude. We dig into the weird politics around the nu-metal sub-reddit and find a treasure trove of great Ticketmaster reviews of some of your favorite nu-metal bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, and Slipknot. Most of the reviews are about parking at the venue. Dudes, as they say, rock.

If you wanna rock, you can help support the show by heading over to patreon.com/blockedparty and donating $5/month to help the Blocked Boys. For that $5, you'll also get THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Raft joined us for a mailbag episode, and this week, our famous "Word Up!" bonus episode returns, as we dig into the horrible, terrible, no good world of Cameo [dot] com. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, an exclusive Discord, and more, so check it out!

Tony Boswell is one of the hosts of Minion Death Cult, which is available wherever you get your pods. You can follow him on Instagram at @wordisbondtv. "Guys" is a podcast hosted every week by Murder Bryan and Chris James, and is also available wherever you get your pods. You can donate to their Patreon at patreon.com/murderxbryan.

    Episode 273: Stop Blockcasting Yourself

Freaky February continues as we do an episode of one of our very favourite podcasts, and in fact, the first podcast John ever listened to, Stop Podcasting Yourself! We are very pleased to be joined by one of SPY's own hosts, Dave Shumka, as we discuss "Mean Girls: The Musical", the time that Yahoo! hired Snow (yes, the Canadian white rapper Snow) to do its hold music, and John working out too hard and being unable to move for a week. Plus, we dive into your Overheards and Overseens and don't worry, when BP does SPY...it IS that kind of show.

If you want more of this kind of show, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every dang month! This week, Raft rejoins the show for our first-ever mailbag with them, and it was, predictably, a real delight. Plus, we couldn't just let Sweeps Month go by without doing something special, so next week, our Cameo series, "Word Up!" makes its triumphant return to the bonus feed. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and much more, so head on over there and support the show today!

Dave Shumka is one of the two hosts of Stop Podcasting Yourself, which is available wherever you get your podcasts. You can also hear his work as a producer as part of the "Let's Make A..." series and "This Sounds Serious". You can follow him on Twitter at @daveshumka.
