Everyone says Hollywood has run out of ideas. We say let's embrace it. Longtime friends and entertainment industry pros Justin St. Onge and Matt Grant discuss all things movie sequels, reboots and remakes.
It's been awhile, but schedules finally cleared, the stars finally aligned, and we return after a long hiatus (most successful podcasts sporadically record 3 episodes a year, right!?)
We just copy pasted that first sentence from our last episode because it still works this time!
Finally...we bring you Episode 19! The champions of Earthrealm must fight to save the world against the warriors from Outworld. Does this sound familiar? Well it should because we're discussing Mortal Kombat 2021...yes we know it's 2022 already. This is the reboot of 1995s successful and somewhat well received cult classic. Most of the main characters are back and there's even some new blood introduced to the lineup. Was it a Flawless Victory or did we have to dish out some Fatalities?
In the Pipeline we talk about some recent reboot/remake/sequel news including casting and potential casting news. Plus some info about the Oscars Best Picture nominees that you may not have known.
It's been over a year since our last episode so we must be living in a post-pandemic world right? No? Really? Well, things might be getting better but the following advice still works.
Take care of each other, social distance, get your vaccine if you're eligible, stay at home if you can, wear a mask if you do have to go out, and.......
Wash Your Hands!
As always, thanks for giving us a shot. We hope we keep you entertained enough to give our next episodes a listen. If you subscribe, that's just icing on the cake for us. Make sure you get in touch with us to let us know what you want to see on upcoming episodes!

Enough of that...It's Episode 18! Akeem, Semmi, most of the original cast and some hilarious new additions reunite to bring us the long awaited sequel to the hit 1988 film "Coming to America"
In the jam packed Pipeline we talk about some actual real trailers, some teases, and continue our obsession with Mortal Kombat.

Episode 17! It's the long-awaited third chapter in the story of Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted "Theodore" Logan. We think it was MOST triumphant!
In the Pipeline we talk about a few rumors, teases, and trailers in the world of reboots, sequels and remakes, while things in Hollywood are mostly at a standstill with some projects tentatively making the first steps towards active productions again.

On this 16th episode of Movies Never Say Die we talk about Barbershop: The Next Cut. Here at MNSD we wanted to discuss a movie that touches on some of the same social injustice and black lives matter issues that have been sweeping over the US in recent months. To our surprise, and perhaps ignorance, we found it a little hard to find one that still fit our sequels and reboots theme. But we found it in this most recent entry of the Ice Cube lead franchise.
In the Pipeline we talk about a few rumors, teases, and trailers in the world of reboots, sequels and remakes, while things in Hollywood are still in an ongoing stoppage.

On this episode of Movies Never Say Die we discuss Bumblebee, a Transformers movie with action, heart and brains. It's a miracle!! Dan Savage jokingly paraphrases Andy Warhol in saying that everyone will have a podcast for 15 episodes...well, we made it! Here's to 15 more! :-D
In the Pipeline we talk about a few announcements in the world of reboots, sequels and remakes, while things in movieland remain in a holding pattern...

On this episode of Movies Never Say Die we get into Kevin Smith's latest movie Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. It's a sequel and a reboot. It was kind of a given our little podcast about reboots and sequels would discuss this movie. It's right there in the title!
Before Matt and Justin get to the Pipeline segment they talk about how the coronavirus has affected their lives and the world of movies. To our loyal listeners out there, and anyone else who happens to stumble upon our show, we hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy through this ordeal that we are all facing. Take care of each other, social distance, stay at home if you can, wear a mask if you do have to go out, and.......
Wash Your Hands!
In the Pipeline we talk about currently in production (even if production is currently suspended) and recently announced movies like The Matrix 4, Passion of the Christ: Resurrection, and Shrunk the new sequel in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids franchise. We also give our reactions to two trailers for hopefully soon to be released sequels A Quiet Place 2 and the next Candyman film. Oh we also mention the announcement of a Dragon's Lair video game adaptation starring Ryan Reynolds.
But in our main segment we do get all up into Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Is it really "literally the same fuсking movie all over again" as director/star Kevin James...I mean Kevin Smith has said? If you saw the movie you will understand that joke. The 8th movie in Smith's View Askewniverse, does it live up to his prior entries? There are a lot of actors and characters from the past that return for this outing. We know Smith is trying to bring some of his greatest hits like Mallrats and Clerks back to the big screen for sequels. Does Jay and Silent Bob Reboot do well enough to make us think that's a good idea? We're not going to spoil that here, you'll have to listen to get our takes.
As always, thanks for giving us a shot. We hope we keep you entertained enough to give our next episodes a listen. If you subscribe, that's just icing on the cake for us. Make sure you get in touch with us to let us know what you want to see on upcoming episodes!

We took some time off... but we're BACK, baby! A lot has happened in the world of reboots and sequels. Let's get caught up with the movie world around us!
After a brief winter hiatus that turned into a long winter hiatus, we've returned! Just because we've been away, doesn't mean the movie world stops...so there's a lot to catch up on! We've decided to veer from our format a bit and do an all-pipeline catch up episode discussing recent (and semi recent) reboot and sequel movie news and trailers. There's a bit of everything, from Beverly Hills Cop 4 (Yes, they're trying again) to the new Fast and Furious movie.
We've had a lot of downloads and social media page visits while we were away so THANK YOU and WELCOME to our new listeners! It gets better after episode 1....trust us.
As always, thanks for giving us a shot. We hope we keep you entertained enough to give our next episodes a listen. If you subscribe, that's just icing on the cake for us. Make sure you get in touch with us to let us know what you want to see on upcoming episodes!

In our "Pipeline" segment we take a look at the most recent slate of reboot and sequel announcements and trailers.
For our 12th episode we give you our take on one of this years Stephen King adaptations, Pet Sematary. Matt has read/seen almost every version of this tale. While Justin is seeing this story with fresh eyes.
"Reboot Wishlist" is where we tell the listeners what movies we think deserves to get the reboot/remake treatment.

Welcome back to Movies Never Say Die! Just a quick heads up, we had an audio snafu on Matt's end and had to rely on our backup audio stream for the first 13 minutes or so of the podcast. The audio is pretty good, but if you do notice a drop in quality, just know that it improves after minute 13. Thanks! If the content sucks, that's Matt's fault, too! :-P
In this episode's "Pipeline" we not only take a look at the most recent slate of reboot and sequel announcements and trailers, but even dip into the world of music a little bit.
Then we take a look at Tom Holland's run as Spiderman, with a focus on Far From Home, especially in light of the recent breakdown in talks between Sony and Marvel that would allow our favorite webslinger to keep playing in the MCU.
"Reboot Wishlist" is where we tell the listeners what movies we think deserves to get the reboot/remake treatment.

Welcome back to Movies Never Say Die!
In this episode's "Pipeline" we get right into the non-Marvel SDCC news. There was some Terminator: Dark Fate news and a new trailer for It Chapter Two. Plus first trailers dropped for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot and a certain sequel that has been "coming soon" for over 30 years, Top Gun: Maverick!
It's all San Diego Comic-Con 2019 this time so we aren't discussing a specific movie on this episode of MNSD. But we will give you our take on all the big reboot/sequel news that came out of SDCC. Our main topic this time is all the insane Marvel news they dropped on us from Hall H. SO MUCH MARVEL!
"Reboot Wishlist" is where we tell the listeners what movies we think deserves to get the reboot/remake treatment.

Welcome back to Movies Never Say Die!
This show's "Pipeline" is really just a warmup to our rant about Kevin Hart taking on the sacred Bill Murray Christmas Classic....Scrooged! What the hell, KevHar!?!? Do people call him that? Well they should! We also talk about other reboot and sequel news....seriously, we do!
On this episode of MNSD, we look back at last year's film Solo: A Star Wars Story! Did the most recent Star Wars spinoff push through casting controversy and fired directors to succeed at showing us a young Han Solo neither of us really felt like we needed to see?
