He spends his free time in the ocean, but it is also where most of his academic career took place. From tagging elephant seals up and down the Central Coast to leading the scientific diving class for the Marine Sciences center, Whelan filled his college experience by combining science and fun.

Through her company, Axelsson has essentially taught a computer how to taste and leads innovation in industries from wine to coffee.Â
