Phlying High with the Sixers free agent frenzy and a Phillies (more than) halfway recap

Woah! Justin and Pete on the same pod...together?! You heard it right, we are BACK from our two-month hiatus as co-hosts, and we're diving right into it. Sunday was unreal exciting in the NBA, we give WOJ #godstatus and delve into the Sixers moves. We look at the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade, Josh Richardson and Al Horford's immediate impact, and how this humungous team will be able to space the floor. Then we hit on the halfway point in the MLB season and talk Phillies: where they've gone wrong, where they need to improve, and a little positivity rolling into the coming months.

Was Jimmy Buckets weak for passing on a max deal to go to Miami? Is Bryce Harper letting us down big time or can we expect a huge second half from number three? Let us know your thoughts using #PhanPerspective on Facebook and Twitter, where you can find us @PhlyingHighPod!

Be sure to like and subscribe if you're digging what we're doing, and maybe even leave a nice 5-star review! More ahead in the coming weeks, let's get it!

Phlying High with a Return from Hiatus (and Justin Solo)

We have been silent for too long! Life has been hectic to say the least, but Justin found some spare time to go over the recent happenings in Flyers country and to RANT about the Phillies! What an abysmal series against the Marlins. Swept by the Marlins. That shouldn't be a thing, yet it just happened before our very eyes. Unfortunately, this recording came before Sunday's final pitch, but the mood hasn't changed, it has only worsened. Nonetheless, things need to change fast if the Phils see a postseason in their future. How are you feeling about the horrible run that the boys at CBP have been on lately? How are you feeling about the future of our Flyers? Let us know your #PhanPerspective on Facebook and Twitter at @PhlyingHighPod! We will soon have an episode with the two co-hosts together once again, but until then, enjoy a little Justin Solo!

Phlying High with an Eagles Draft Breakdown (featuring Jake Meluskey of the Morning Call)

We are BACK again after some time off. Unfortunately, Justin was not able to join for this rendition of the pod and we missed him dearly - anticipating his return in a future episode TBD. Pete was joined by Jake Meluskey, Editorial Assistant at the Morning Call where he served as the exclusive source of Eagles draft coverage. We distracted ourselves in the days following the quad-doink by delving deep into the 2019 Eagles draft class! It was a blast talking Birds, even though Jake's heart truly lies with the San Di- oh wait. The Los Angeles Chargers. Yeah, that's right. 'Twas a blast and a half, we look forward to having Jake back on in the future to talk all things Philly sports. In the meantime: sit back, relax and learn about the Philadelphia Eagles Class of 2019!

Phlying High with a Sixer Demon Silenced (Before the Hawks)

While it seemed like the Sixers would never get past the demon inside their heads, last week they finally beat the Celtics. Before a dreadful loss to the Hawks, Justin and Pete got together to cover the incredible week that was for Brett Brown and company, focusing on how they're primed for a playoff push (then they lost to the freakin' Hawks, SMH). We discuss the positive notes in another up-and-down streaky season for the Flyers with their playoff hopes dwindling and go over the Eagles moves of the week/Harpers Homers. We close out with an awesome new segment, giving our Phave Phive Baseball Movies (you'll be thoroughly disappointed in Pete's selections but Justin's a self-proclaimed cinematic snobfessional). ATTN: We are looking for you, Philly Phanatics, to come onto our show and discuss the issues that are most important to you within Philly sports. Contact us or use the #PhanPerspective to let us know what you want to talk about when we have you on!

Phlying High with Brian Roam (aka) Beef of National Holiday Celebrations

Pete is joined by special guest Brian Roam (who will be referred to as BEEF from here on out) for an incredibly random tangent-filled, Philadelphia lovin' interview. Beef runs the social media account, National Holiday Celebrations, which is catching the interweb by storm. In a hilariously enjoyable interview, we covered what it feels like to buy 26 gallons of milk at Walmart, life as a transplanted Philly Phan ripped away from our beloved city, Beef's run-in with Sidney Jones' cell phone at the Super Bowl Parade and much more!  Check out the full rundown below and be sure to subscribe and rate the pod!

Justin and Pete are back at it, predicting (or suggesting) what the starting lineup for the new look Phillies should set come opening day. Collaborating on a piece for Section 215, the two hashed out the idea in the written word but further analyze why each player should be slotted in their respective position.

Wow, wow, wow.  What a week for Philadelphia sports and the wait is over. 100+ days of agony, uncertainty and false excitement on social media. Break down the deal, how it went down, what he brings to this city as a player and a person, and of course we tinker with some possible Opening Day lineups!

Phlying High with The Phifth Quarter's Ryan Haase

Two for two, holy smokes! After our post-Eagle depression hiatus, we're back with our second episode in two days! Once again, missing Justin more than you could imagine and we recognize him in an Ode to the Co-Host (1:39). Don't fret, he'll be back next week. Hopping back on that positive train. We were incredibly lucky to have our very first guest interview with Ryan Haase, co-host on the podcast The Phifth Quarter. Haase and I talk about every aspect of every move the Sixers made over the past few days, where they stack up against the rest of the conference following the trade deadline, where they are headed in the long term, and how the good ole days of $15 lower level tix are long gone (3:09). Closing out with the remembrance of a Hall of Fame and barrier-breaking figure, MLB playing and managing legend Frank Robinson (49:29).
