In todayās episode, I sit down with Deb Malkin to explore what it truly means to reclaim your body, your agency, and your sense of safety from the inside out. Debās story of overcoming years of debilitating knee pain isnāt just about symptoms resolvingāitās about a paradigm shift. We talk about what happens when you stop assuming your body is broken, and instead begin listening to it, partnering with it, and seeing it as a safe place to return to. Deb learned to align with her body rather than fight it, and the result was profound physical and emotional transformation.
We also dive into internalized weight stigma, body image, and the external pressures that shape how we view ourselves. Justine Stull is an occupational therapist living with her husband and two teens in Maryland. She has her own journey with complexĀ trauma and mindbody symptoms. She came to this work nearly three years ago and credits it with a drastic reduction of symptoms and anxiety, and a profound, ongoing healing in her relationship with herself.Ā She is trained in the Sarno x Sachs Solution, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and Emotional Awareness & Expression Therapy.Ā She is a longtime member of the JournalSpeak community and an admin of the Support Circle, where she enthusiasticallyĀ walks beside those who are also dedicated to their own healing. Lisa Frattini was in severe pain when an MRI showed an abnormality that scared her to death.
