Don’t be a drag, just be a KING w/ Ivo Dimchev

Ivo Dimchev is a choreographer, visual artist, singer- songwriter from Bulgaria. His work is an extreme and colourful mixture of performance art, dance, theatre, music, drawings and photography.

Dimchev is the creator of more than 30 performances and has received numerous international awards for dance and theatre and has presented his work all over Europe, South and North America.

Ivo joins the DTF Club this week to talk about KING… the latest work from one of Australia’s most highly acclaimed contemporary dance companies – Shaun Parker & Company.

Presented as part of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival 2019, KING offers the audience a fresh take on historic notions of masculinity and socio-sexual-political structures, in the form of a biting, yet humorous theatrical nod to a society in revolt against an exhausted patriarchy.

Set in a fantastical realm – part cocktail-bar, part jungle, the piece is played out to a seductive original score, created and performed live on stage by Dimchev, making his Australian debut in the role of soulful cabaret crooner.

CULT mother, Tammy joins the DTF Club this week and she has a very important message for you:

“Hi there, I’m a pansexual transexual from the future. I consider myself borderline sedate/wild. I like long walks on the beach with the wind on my mind and meaningful thoughts in the air. Drug of choice is Ketamine, drink of choice is a vodka pineapple. I believe the children are our future, and my life slogan is ‘Sit down, have a third cocktail, you’ll forget about it’.”
