Presented in partnership with Untitled Art and Eighth House, this panel explores the critical role of restorative residencies in sustaining and evolving the contemporary art ecosystem. At a time when artists face mounting economic, social, and emotional pressures, residencies that prioritize rest, reflection, and holistic care are more essential than ever. The conversation features Diana Eusebio (Artist and Eighth House Residency alumna), Danny Báez (Curator and Curatorial Board Member, Eighth House Residency), and Tessa Greene O’Brien (Surf Point artist alumna and Surf Point Board Member), moderated by Katharina McCarthy (Founder, Eighth House Residency).

Topics included the changing role of art critics in the digital age, the challenges of maintaining editorial independence, the impact of social media on art writing, and how diverse voices can strengthen the field. The discussion also considers how art writing can foster greater inclusivity and accessibility within the art world. The vibrant art talks series continues into its fourth year, as part of Untitled Art’s collaboration with Soho Beach House Miami. Panelists Carl Gambino (Art Collector), Reginald O’Neal (Artist), and Katia David Rosenthal (Gallerist, KDR) are joined by moderator Nicole Martinez (Deputy Director, Fountainhead), for a dynamic discussion on young collectors and collection building. Each offering a unique perspective on the topic, panelists will explore how connections among collectors, galleries, and artists influence collecting practices.
