Hello and welcome to Bryan Connect. This podcast has been developed to connect, you the listener to Bryan Middle School in Elmhurst D205 (a school district who is a national leader in future ready learning). I am your host, Jason Crockett, the assistant principal at Bryan Middle School. This year our “theme” at Bryan is “BEING CONNECTED,” so we will connect, you the listener, to our school through a number of ways, such as: in our joy, through our professional learning, how we support our students, how we deliver strong instruction, and much more.     Ep 7 - Enrichment Experiences at Bryan
    Today, in Episode 7, I sit down with Mrs. Meg Hatz, Alana, Mia, Mrs. Ann Dakins, Maggie, & Emelyn to discuss a few Enrichment Experiences at Bryan Middle School. In Mrs. Hatz's class, our middle school students learn to communicate using basic sign language (alphabet, numbers, emotions, nouns, and more). In Mrs. Dakin's "Spreading the JOY" class, students take the lead through the arts and community outreach programs. These are only two of the many opportunities students have to grow and enhance their own learning, as we allow our students to pursue their interests through selecting their own enrichment experiences in Elmhurst D205.

    Today, in Episode 6, I sit down with Ms. Heather Bolur & students Elizabeth W, Ava H, Lily R, Elizabeth K, and Alyssa P, who are members of our Bryan Student Council. They tell us a little about themselves, their interests, and their JOY! Also, they explain our leadership group, what they do, and some projects they have & will be working on.     Ep 5 - Reflecting on our 2018 Veterans Day Assembly at BMS
    Today, I sit down with Mr. Jim Tang & a 6th grader, Emilie, to discuss our 2018 Veterans Day Assembly. Mr. Tang is our SS Department Chair and head of our Veterans Day committee. He explains all the planning & preparation that went into it. Also, he acknowledges all those involved that helped make our assembly happen. Later, Emilie shares with us what her role was, some of her poem, and her personal experience on that day. The entire BMS family was so happy to honor, spend time with, and thank those who have served our country.
