this show inspires artists & creatives in any medium to journey inward, so that what we share with the world is connected to who we truly are

A quick update on where I'm at and a few of my favorite ideas from recent books I've read (Atomic Habits, Unsubscribe, and The Golden Sequence)

This is an experiment and exercise in self-reflection. If you feel so inclined, you can call 774-728-2288 or email a voice memo to [email protected] with a voicemail to your younger self. The only requirement is that you start with, "hey it's me"
Selections from a Wednesday at the GrandLo set on January 23rd, 2019.
a conversation with Kate Lumpkin about point of view, patience, relationships, changing your path, habits, defining success, community, showing up, vulnerability, and ultimately the work of being alive.
this is a live acoustic demo of a song called "Marvelous Beast"
A conversation with PENNYWILD (aka Melanie Wildman) about forging your own path and not accepting someone else's limits. She's a DJ, choreographer, dancer and very dope human who's made a name for herself in LA after moving there with no connections or prospects. Her story is one of individuality, perseverance and generosity. She is kind, she is smart, and she is ridiculously talented and hearing her speak on her experience will make you reflect on what passions you could be pursuing.
Kicking off 2019 with something different. A special new year song - just for you.
Lyrics:
It’s a new year
and before we start
I’d like to say a couple things about the hardest part
(of starting) a new year
is that I feel fear
for what’s ahead I do not know at least the path I’m on is my own
(starting this) new year
singing this song right here
today is January 1
and I commit to having fun
(in this) New year
I want to change the gear
To talkin bout what you can do if you wanna reconnect with you
(in this) new year
start up by slow-in-down
its just so easy to get lost when stuck spinning round and round
(yeah it’s a) new year
but it’s the same you -
can decide if you are primed to break into something new
(in this) new year
take some time for yourself
if you can’t love what in the mirror how you goin love anybody else
(in this) new year
there is no set divide
we all have won the human race by just being alive
(I hope this) new year
brings many lessons learned
I don’t regret where have been because it all happened to serve us
(in this) new year
I think I’ll end this now
Yes we have gone on long enough and you already know this stuff
so happy new year
and if you’re still here
I want you to know that I’m grateful for you
it’s true.
The last episode of 2018! I'm taking December to detox from all things social media - the podcast included. I think it's vital that we take breaks and reconnect with our short and long term intentions. December is the perfect time to regroup and reflect on how you've grown in the last 12 months and what areas of your life you want to focus more energy on. I'm excited to to hold a mirror up to my own experiences in an effort to enter 2019 feeling more clear and more grounded. I'll be back in the New Year with new episodes, new shapes, and new ideas.
